    P-99 Owners-Need some Opinions/Advice

Consider trading the gun for something that makes you happier. It sounds like the gun will perform well, but you don't have confidence in it. While I think the tightness of the slide fit has less to do with accruacy that the manner in which the barrel consistently locks up (and I'm no gunsmith...

    Glock 19...Compensated or Not ???

I agree with 10-Ring and others. The Glock 19 is very easily handled without porting, and like owning a home with a swimming pool...might be a plus when trading or selling it later on...or it might be something to be avoided, as with most of the respondents on this page. Best thing to do is...

Where to buy ammo in SE Michigan

I recommend that you try Target Sports on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak. They can order by the case for you too. Hoe this is helpful.

What Is YOUR Favorite Kimber Model?

My Warrior, followed by my Super Match, on which I installed target adjustable sights with a tritium bar and tritium front sight. The Warrior slides nicely into a Sidearmor holster built to hold the added Surefire light on the rail. A very reliable pair. (Sorry, couldn't just choose one. <smile>)

"What? You Don't Have A .40 Caliber In Your Collection"?

These threads are very thought provoking. I have been shooting .40 for a while. It began with the need to shoot "major caliber" in USPSA matches. I put at least 15,000 rounds through my Glock 35 in practice and matches, and have grown (despite considerable ribbing from friends) to feel very...

    Kimber Grand Raptor II .45ACP

I handled the new Raptor ll in our local gun store. The finish is very nice, the polished flats are really clean looking but the checkering will take a little getting used to, even though it did appear to offer an excellent grip. I have the Bar/Dot night sights on my Kimber Super Match and...

Kimber Problems..........thats all I have been hearing!!

I have had a Kimber Super Match for a few years. I have shot it in Limited Ten competition, as well as at the range, and it has continued to function every time flawlessly. It continues to shoot with advertised accuracy. I confess to have dumped the Kimber mags for Wilsons, but really there...

Does anyone make a .223 pistol

I have always thought that the S&W 500 could probably withstand the pressures if they narrowed the barrel bore and put in a cylinder that could hold eight rounds of .223....but then maybe Smith would have done that if possible....now that would be a pistol...

Which Glock is my best buy?

I guess it depends on what modifications were made, but I modified my Glock 35 with a Ghost connector, etc, polished the feed ramp and the other parts of the slide and barrel where there is friction, and it now has a much improved trigger and shoots very smoothly. I have used it in USPSA...

Own a HK USP Expert or Elite? Come sit over here.....

I have both an Expert and an Elite, and while the Elite is unique, it has a bit a bit of muzzle flip IMHO...The Expert on the other hand provides a bit more control, is very accurate, and a bit easier to pull from the holster. In addition, I believe you can shoot the Expert in "limited" or...

New Glock 34 Failure to feed problems

I used to shoot my Glock 35 in USPSA matches, but the mags were the problem. Other friends had the same issue. The hi-caps would swell after moderate use. Great pistol, but the mags were not equal to the gun. A number of friends switched to XD-40 Tacticals just because of the higher quality...

can heat change group size in a pistol

I'm not an expert, but I believe the heat factor is one of the reasons that my two pistols with bull barrels continue to shoot so accurately, even after 150 rounds ( a Kimber Ultra 10 II, and an SVI Infinity). This is perhaps more evident in rifles, the "mountain" variety with thinner barrels...

    Lights on Guns Bad Idea

While there has been some pretty interesting discussion here, apparently this question has plagued law enforcement as well. A recent gun mag reported on a test done by a police department using no light, with the gun mounted light constantly on, and using a technique whereby persons with...

Guns You'd Like to See Them Make

I would like to see a S&W 500 chambered for .223. It might not take the pressure, but the cylinder looks long enough, and you could probably bore it for at least eight rounds, and maybe ten. Now that would be a hunting pistol!

    What was your first handgun?

Like a few others who have replied, mine was an H&K USP Compact in .40 S&W, purchased for self-defense after foiling an attempted home break-in with nothing but a lot of yelling and a call to 911... my effort to learn how to shoot it lead me down the road to a few more H&K's (and a few others...

    Whos getting a CZ40-P?

Caliburn, the base pad on the magazine adds length and is curved like a finger grip. The material is superior to other basepads (will stand up to Gunscrubber). One trick not memtioned in the manual however is the fact that the slide release does not remove by lining up the line on the slide...

    Whos getting a CZ40-P?

I bought mine a little over a week ago. It is a great pistol...as accurate as any CZ I have ever shot (which is a compliment only those who have shot a CZ can understand), has an improved magazine design, with a rail, improved sights, and has overall lines that make it one of the most handsome...

    FiveseveN in SE Michigan?

Yup, it was said above, but I will reiterate. Go to Target Sports in Royal Oak on Woodward and about 121/2 mile, and ask for Ray. He had one yesterday.
