I carry my Colt Commander and shoot it also in IDPA matches in the same holster and cover I use everyday. I figure that is the only way to remain competent and practiced.

The indoor range I use allows CCW any time except when an IDPA match is going on. Then the only time you can touch your gun is when you are shooting. They also allow you to practice drawing from concealment, but request you tell them you will be doing it.
