I am getting a brand new wall tent ready for its first elk hunt. The directions call for subtracting 2 inches from each measurement and in a later step subtracting another 2 to 4 inches from the shortened measurement, at least thats the way I read it. Am I on the right track?
I have a Savage Model 1899 in 250-3000. The lever is a little loose , and the firing pin strikes the primer off center. Are these problems related? If so, how do I remove the lever to work on it?

OK Folks, I'm hearing Pam, Johnson's Floor Wax, Paste wax, grease, and shoe polish for a release agent. What's the best, and who has other favorites. Also, is there any prep before I glass bed an action in a Ramline stock? Its pretty flimsey.

I am looking at a Savage model 99E. The stock has been replaced, and has a poor fit. Can anyone give me some tips about fitting the stocks in these? I have heard that the tang on top needs a little clearance from the wood, or the stock will crack. Any pointers?
