    Spotting scope

With the Celestron C90 setup I can see .22 holes at 300 on a colored target, with little or no mirage. Shoot-n-c targets make it very doable at 300, even with quite a bit of mirage. Again, I have not used the new C90, but I would presume it to be up to the same caliber. Your other alternative...

    Spotting scope

Yes there is a difference. Mirage will be the biggest concern, once you get a decent scope. On really bad mirage days, I can just barely make out .22 holes at 200, usually. On clear days, 300 is easily doable. Make sure that the target you shoot at is NOT black. I find red to work quite...

    Spotting scope

I have a very unconventional recommendation for you. You can pick up this scope for $150: http://www.adorama.com/CNC90N.html (also at http://www.amazon.com/Celestron-52268-C90-Mak-Spotting/dp/B0038QYRDO) The eyepiece it comes with gives you 38x power. You can then buy this eyepiece for $40...

Were any magazines marked "Restricted" or LEO before the 1994 AWB?

That is my understanding too. I don't see why they would go through the trouble and cost of putting a stamp on a magazine if the stamp was superfluous.

Were any magazines marked "Restricted" or LEO before the 1994 AWB?

I had a store clerk tell me that some magazines intended for law enforcement sale pre-1994 might have such a stamp on the magazine. I am skeptical, to say the least.

Drop in 22LR AR Conversions vs dedicated 22LR Upper vs dedicated 22LR AR

I would be hesitant to run a 22lr bullet down the same bore that will later see a FMJ 223 round. The 22lr bullet is lead, coated with wax, and the wax (at the very least) will be deposited in the bore. The FMJ 223 round might not do well with this wax in the bore, both in terms of accuracy and...

Get disappointed with my Savage 11 shooting results

How big are the strings that you are shooting? And what weight/thickness is the barrel? I have a Stevens 200 (same action as a Savage) in 7mm-08 that came with a sporter weight barrel. It is VERY accurate for about 5 - 10 shots and then it shoots all over the place when the barrel heats up...

Low Profile Bipods Or Normal Sized Bipods Which Do You Think Is Better?

The best answer is find your natural shooting position for whatever position you are shooting in and use the bipod that puts the rifle in that range. For me, I have found the 9-13 inch bipods to do this best from either the bench or prone.

Should the terrorist watch list ban you from buying (or owning) a gun.

There really isn't any more to be said on this issue.

Any other steel pistols as nice as a Sig 226?

I have a Beretta 92S (NOT the "FS"). It is all steel, has gorgeous bluing, and everything is incredibly smooth. Trigger is great, and it is ridiculously light recoiling and easy to shoot. Makes me proud.

    K31 upgrades

Nice! I was fortunate enough to find a nice K31 with mount and 6x Sightron scope already mounted for $300 (I felt like I was stealing walking out the door with that). It shoots well under 1 MOA at 200 yards with my handloads. Consider getting this if the bipod is not working out so close in...

how accurate are .22LR at farther distance

My club has an ongoing rimfire competition at 200 yards (just shoot the target when you can and fill in your score). You get 20 shots, and they are either in or out of the 5 inch (I think) scoring ring. Shooting a Savage Mark II with SK standard ammo, I've gotten 16 or so in on my best target...

    Companies that sell to MA?

The MA attorney general has gone after some of the big name companies for selling ammo (and components!) to MA. Some theory of needing a license to sell in the state/not knowing if the person is licensed or some such. This was several AGs ago, but I doubt there has been any official change in...

Threat of arrest for empty holster

Do you have any references for any of that? I DON'T DOUBT YOU AT ALL! Rather, that is one of the best cases/scenarios I have ever read countering the argument that individuals don't need guns because the police will protect you. I would like to be able to use it in the future.

    Should I get a .243 win or .25-06?

Read this article on the .243: http://www.6mmbr.com/243Win.html That pretty much convinced me to get a .243 at some point. I'm not in the market for such a rifle now, but if I were, I would give it a STRONG consideration.

    Swiss K-31 for hunting?

Ballistically, 7.5x55 swiss is a great hunting round. The issue of course will be in using hunting ammo. If you handload, you can use any .308 bullet, so that is easy. It sounds like you don't, so you'd probably want some sort of soft point or other hunting round like you bought. I don't...

    Kill the kick

Check out Boyds stocks. Available also at stockysstock.com. I just put a featherlight thumbhole on my Stevens 200 7mm-08, and a spare limbsaver I had floating around screwed right into the holes drilled for the Boyd buttplate. Paid ~$100 for the stock. Being wood, you can easily drill new...
