Here is a 20 year old S&W 642. These can be a bit of a handful for recoil sensitive persons. To ameliorate that:
Crimson Trace Red Laser model 305, larger grip, pocket to help cushion the blow.
Buffalo Bore Standard .38 special instead of Plus P.
Standard Pressure Short Barrel Low Flash Heavy...
This S&W Compact Gen One started its life as a .40. I decided to put a 9mm barrel and magazines into it. Night sites, Storm Lake stainless match grade. Runs well and is very accurate. XGrip mage extension cover, Viridian C5 Green Laser and LED light. Extended Magazine. Not so compact any longer...
How about a Kahr PM9 with CT Red Dot. One of the compacts that started it all.
This was one of the first issues.
It went back to the Factory at least once for a total rebuild before it was able to be a trusted carry.
That's what you get for being an early adopter. This and a S&W 642 were my...
The first semi-auto pistol I purchased was a BERSA Thunder. Great handgun for the money 20 years ago. Very accurate and easy on the recoil. Handles every .380 round I ever put through it. Later I picked up the CC version in an estate sale. One of the early CC handguns prior to the mass offerings...
Here is a S&W 686 CS-1, 3 inch .357. Beadblasted finish.
Issued to the Customs Service in the 80s prior to Semi-autos.
The 3 inch Models for the suits.
The 4 inch for Duty Officers.
Lots of history, This one was from someone in the Detroit area.
Anyone else have one?
I have an additional 12 Mav for spare parts and tear it up and down. The last configuration as pictured was setup for a trip to Alaska via motorhome through Canada. As setup it complies with RCMP Regulations. Sort of surprised me with the extended magazine. Filled out the paperwork before...
I have a couple of field shotguns, Remington 870 20, and a Browning Light 12.
These are the two dedicated to personal defense.
Maverick 88 and the Shockwave.
We all like photos. After all these years this is still my mostly EDC winter carry. Guess I should get a high cap concealable as the world won't succumb to just five rounds any mo. M&P 340.
I gave up a decade or so ago after I found most of what I had on my want to have list.
K Frames and L Frames Smiths. A couple of must haves in my book that I sourced years ago. 19 and 66 no locks. Early Dash.
They were in the $500 dollar range at the time.
I have had what I wanted for years and stopped buying a decade ago in favor of other "toys". I am sort of getting the urge.
Agree with the S&W 10mm. Hard to turn down today's price on the thing,
Wouldn't mind a compact high capacity 9mm setup with optics. 365 maybe.
Joined and active a long time ago. Been gone for even longer. Still in east TN and still on the right side of the dirt! Still get to the range when I can. Retired about 7 years ago and have been traveling the US and Canada.
