.32 SW for an Iver Johnson break top

I have reloaded .32 S&W with black powder. I use a Lee Dipper, put about a full case in of 3F, and top it with a Hunter Supply 76 grain cast bullet. I use Lee dies for loading it. Since I don't shoot the two .32's I have that often, once a year reloading pretty much does it for me. BP...

Your Thoughts on Pistol Powder Availability

I wish... I am one of those a pound of powder gets me through the year shooters. However, I have not been able to find pistol powder for over a year. I wish it would get better. I have seen rifle powder on the shelves, but no pistol powder. The Doc is out now.

    Really bragging or really tickled.

Add five more grains. See if that doesn't raise it to the point of aim. (If, of course, you were aiming at THAT card)

Taurus 24/7 long slide replacement front sight

Weregunner, Thank you very much for those posts. You can teach an old dog new tricks as now I know there is a dedicated Taurus forum. I think I found my answer in there. The Doc is out now.

Taurus 24/7 long slide replacement front sight

I have a .45 ACP Taurus 24/7 long slide that shoots low no matter what I put through it. Semi-Wadcutter, 200 grain ball, 230 grain ball. Any idea if there are replacement front sights that will work with the 24/7 so I don't have to file down the front sight or hold high? The Doc is out...

    Brown Bess Range Report

First thing I thought of was how are you holding the flint in the hammer. I see you were doing it wrong. Denim? Oh well, that's why you ask here. If you can find a .50 lead ball out there somewhere, smash it flat with a hammer. Smack it flat enough so that you can cut it with a pair of regular...

    Officer Harless is gone!

I am in the State of Illinois, where our current and past governors, together with the current and past mayors of the largest city in the state, and the directors of the Illinois State Police, do not want honest people to have concealed carry. That said, I fear this same type of thing will...

    Thrown off the skeet range!

45-70 Ranger. Too bad you are down in Texas. We would enjoy a person with such a fun sense of humor up here. Just yesterday, I had my first opportunity shooting a .43 Spanish Rolling block. We do BP shoots up here, and have several members with trapdoors as well. I just can't see the problems...

A Gift From Me To Me...

And what you will need to do to get maximum enjoyment out of it is to learn how to use and shoot a flintlock. I hate to suggest it because of the good people on this forum, but you will get loads of correct info at the Traditional Muzzleloading forum, which has sections for Flintlock firearms...

    Baby LeMat

I'd like to see a better Whitney or a Manhatten clone. Palmetto made a Whitney, but it was flawed from what I understand and it did not sell well. The current LeMats have a reputation for not having the shotgun barrel shoot reliably from what I have seen here and elsewhere. Don't know how a...

    Any Taurus 1911 owners here?

Haven't had any issues with my PT1911 since I got it a few years back now. I am very pleased considering that when I got mine, there were all the same comments about it being cheap and breaking down back then, too. I have no idea if those people actually even saw a PT1911. The Doc is out...

    THR Spiller & Burr Club

Viking Don, Leadzinger said he built his from a kit. No telling right now if the timing is right (though it should be) or what the real problem is. Go ahead and shoot. The S&B replica is solid. Use about 15-18 grains FFFG and a .375 pure lead (or as close as you can get to pure) ball and fire...

    Roy's Original Pancake value?

What is this 'leather' that you speak of stranger? Does it come with plastic clips or nylon straps? I think that is what I paid for mine in the early 1980's, so at least, it does not seem to have gone up in value. The Doc is out now.

It just sort of fell on me to be the one posting the 'official list'. I'll correct it next time somebody joins. Sorry about that. The order of the people is just coincidentally from when they joined in the fun of having a Spiller & Burr. The Doc is out now.

A story from the distant past

OTASCO was around in 1870? I didn't know they were around then. I knew they were from some time ago, but not 1870. Wow, what a story. Did you ever make the switch to a cartridge gun? The Doc is out now. :neener:

    1987 S&W model 36, +P??

I've said this before, but the .38 Special can be loaded as follows: 200 grain round nose lead bullet, over 3.8 grains of Unique. The bullet is stable in flight, but tumbles when it hits something. It is like getting hit with a slower moving basketball vs. a fast baseball. Both will knock you...
