I read thru the manual and I can't find anything that say's it's +P

I just bought a Sig P220 Carry equinox and went to shoot it on Sunday it shoots great by the way, I was asked if my gun was +P rated corbon makes some hollow points that are +p rated and the gun must be plus P rated to fire them, my question's are what is +P suposidly some sort of hotter load...

I'm getting ready to buy a Sig p220 carry equinox and just wondering if anyone has carried one for a while is this a good gun to carry everyone I talk to say's it's a great gun to shoot but I don't know anyone that has carried one any replies or tips would be appreciated....
