I have read in the past that ammunition doesn't have the chance to expel it's gases, etc to its full potential in a revolver with less than a 4 inch barrel on it. If you're not going to carry it anyway, I'd agree the guy should throw in some cash for the wooden grips, then make the exchange.

I bought my 4 inch SW686+ on the 15th, not realizing it was buy a gun day.

I called all over town today and couldn't find a new one for less than $499. However, I found a used stainless for $365, and the trigger has been smoothed out on it perfectly! It's darn near as smooth as a Smith trigger. It compliments by 686+ nicely.

I don't hate carrying a gun, but I hate that the world has become a place where I feel the need to carry one. I think it's just population though. There has always been a steady percentage of the population that are criminals, molesters, etc, but the overall population has grown so fast...
