    Replacing Ithaca M37 Bead If the bead is a original factory bead, it is threaded in. Turn left to loosen. Be aware that Ithaca used a different thread size then most other US gun manufactures. The last one I replaced, I had to get it from Brownells.

    The serial number on your Dad's 37 is under 855,000 correct? All 37 made before this number had to have spare barrels fitted at the factory. In 1963 Ithaca changed the threads on their barrels so they could be interchange w/o factory fitting. The orginial Deerslayer was introduced in 1960...
