    AIMPOINT or EOTech

I have both and like both. I think the Aimpoint has more mounting options but since I always go with LaRue and LaRue makes both Aimpoint & EoTEch mounts it is moot for me. I prefer the reticle of the Eotech although a simple dot is hard to beat. As said above the battery life of the...

    800-x in 10mm, metering tips?

For me 800-X does not go in a vloume based powder dispenser. IOW, not in my Uniflow and not on my Dillon 550B. My opinion is that you must either hand weigh each load or use an automatic dispenser with scale, like my RCBS Chargemaster combo. First off, the charge weight variations of 800-X...

    s&w m&p 10mm

I would buy one. I have a Glock 20 and love it but I would buy an M&P in 10mm if it were built off of the M&P 45 frame as the M&P guns are much nicer in the hand IMO. I do not like the M&P trigger but I would buy one and try it out since it is a 10mm.

What is wrong with "X" AR-15 manufacturer?

The last statement is probably accurate but even though some of us don't do dragging our rifles around in the sandbox or giving them the rough treatment that many in LE/Military will some of us want to know that our rifle/parts are made to the original standard or have testing behind them that...

Buying CMP M1 Garand - ownership details and choices

I just got mine back in September or October and I got a Service Grade for $595 and when it arrived I was totally blown away. Condition of it is much better than I expected. While I would have driven there and picked it myself if I could have I guess my "luck of the draw" was good that day...

    New loading room...

Great room there. It's sweet that you got a separate one car garage. I would have done the same thing to it, LOL. One point I will bring up, and I think this is a federal thing, not state, but I believe you can't have more than 25 lbs of powder in one "area" without storing it in a fire...

    Bushnell Elite 3200 Tactical 10x

This scope is one of the good buys out there for a low cost scope. I have two of them. The glass is nice and clear and the reticle is nice and crisp. The clicks on the knobs are nice for the money too. Does this scope equal an $800+ Leopold? Not at all but for $200 I would say it is the...

EOTech vs. Bushnell HOLOsight vs. HOLOsight XLP

You can find the Eotech 512 for $335 to $340 at any given time on the net. $390 is too expensive IMO. $50 is $50 to me.

    Steyr eye candy

Oleg, awesome digital photography as usual. Simply awesome! I am not a huge fan of the gun but if I could own it (legally) in select-fire I might change my mind.

I just bought a new DPMS 308 and have a problem, help?

It's not about choking on ammo per se. From a manufacturer's perspective they cannot guarantee the ability or quality of reloads. Quite frankly, I feel more confident with MY reloads than a lot of companies new ammo and all other companies "remanufactured" ammo. For every prudent, safe, by...

I need advice: Changing my SHTF rifle.

As far as deer hunting, back in the day my dad routinely shot deer with a .22LR open sighted at 100 yards give or take and never tracked one. Now back to the question... I prefer the AR due to comfort, ergonomics, customizationability and accuracy. I think that if you prefer the AK to the AR...

    Building an AK

Here is the first one I built. $89 Romanian kit on a Tapco flat. Duracoat flat black on receiver only. Shot pretty much POA/POI from the get go. No failures so far. For being a little more involved than an "assembling of drop in parts" job it went pretty smoothly.

Well then... Buy some dies so the price will go down already :D I know what you mean though.

    SDM FABRICATING

Scott does AWESOME work and is a great guy. I had him scallop the front strap of my 1911 and it was cheaper than I expected and PERFECT! I am anal and a picky SOB so for me to say perfect is saying something. You will be pleased I am sure. I am certainly not the one to quote Scott's...

AIM Surplus versus FGS, Inc. quality

My K31 from AIM (purchased about a year ago) was great. I was totally pleased with it.

    BHP trigger job...

I'm not sure of the others mentioned, but Yost-Bontiz (Ted Yost as mentioned before) do a trigger job that involves shortening the trigger travel which as I understand it is a pretty sweet mod. To my knowledge they are the only ones doing this.

    How is an M14 legal?

Norinco, Polytech & Federal Arms all made "M14"s that were marked that way and had the stock cut-out but were always semi-auto. Could be one of the Chinese imports.

    Clark reverse plug question

Heinie still has some of the plugs but only for in-house use last time I checked. In other words, not for sale.

    Kart Vote

I'm not sure how you are set up for tools Tuner, but why not a Kart NM fit barrrel that requires lower lug fitting? Just curious. But anyway, upgrade that bad boy. What's better on the hood of a barrel than "Kart"? BTW, I'm not sure where you purchased your last one, but if you buy...

    Removing Rollmarks

Surface grinding will give the best results. However, plan to spend about $75 on it. I got a quote once to remove the STI logo from a slide I got at a good deal and it was either $75 or possibly $50 a side. I plan on doing it with a flycutter on my mill. I know it won't be as nice of a...
