    This stinks!

I suppose they can't use the sure-fire control measure these days that my folks had. It's called a razor strap, and it hurts like the blazes. I never made the same mistake twice.

    This stinks!

Let's see, a 14 year old kid... 1 A.M... Am I the only one wondering what the heck the kid was doing running around in the middle of the night? The best thing I can see coming of this, is a little increase in parental supervision.

    The Midway "handling" charge

Paying more than you need to seems kind of silly, IMHO. Maybe some folks have money to throw away, but I kinda like to get something in return for mine. I'd rather buy from folks who don't use names like "handling fee" and add profit to shipping costs to pad their profits.

    The Midway "handling" charge

Their inflated shipping charge was enough to turn me off. It was at least 25% more than every other supplier I found. Some of those were farther away. This is for the exact same items, too. I Didn't buy from them then, and I don't buy from them now. I doubt the shipper charges them more than...

If you could have only one 9mm

Stoeger Cougar. I like my M&P, but I shoot the Cougar better.

What are the best foods to eat before you shoot.

Sliders and Pinto beans. I don't like to be crowded at the range.

    Carry in Banks?

They'd have to quote Ohio, since banks aren't off limits in KY. I've seen a couple that seem to believe it's against federal law (it isn't), but I don't bank there.

Carry outside of House in the Yard?

Working in the yard is about the only time I OC. 95 degrees and high humidity aren't conductive to CC in a OWB holster. Since I have to use a riding mower, any other form of carry would take to long to get at, at least for me. Out here in the "boonies" it's not a big deal anyway.

"Only Feds Can Carry in Here..."

Ohio http://www.ohanet.org/advocacy/state/issues/resources/04-004.pdf The new law provides that private employers, which would include private hospitals, are immune from liability in a civil action for any injury, death, or loss to person or property allegedly caused by or related to a...

    Wally world

The line cutting should not have been tolerated. That's just plain rude. As far as the kid handling the weapon, if the clerk handed it to him, they were violating company policy. A weapon must only be handed to a person of legal age to purchase. Not much you can do if the adult hands it to the...

Does Wally World get different Guns?

Remember that thread that asked if there were subjects you bypassed on the board? Yep, this qualifies. I see this one at least once a week. :banghead:

Southeastern KY here (Corbin). I grew up in the Louisville area, and spend a lot of time there.

    Carrying at the Workplace

From some of the comments I've seen in this thread, I'm even happier to live in a state that properly recognizes private property rights. In KY (and other states) an employer can not prohibit an employee from keeping a weapon in their car. They may prohibit weapons in the building, but your...

Fuel prices and how they are affecting your shooting habits

Ammo is the only increased cost I have. I drive a company van, and they buy the gas. Normally, I stop by the range on my lunch hour. The only concession I've made is that I don't take anything in .45 with me anymore, and rarely use .357. The 9mm, 38, .32, and .380 is bad enough

    .380 recommendation

At 23 ounces unloaded, I wouldn't describe a Bersa as being heavy. As far as recoil, I'd describe it as comfortable and very manageable. While it is a bit large for pocket carry (at least to me), it is also very concealable. Nothing against the others mentioned, they are also very good. Most are...

    .380 recommendation

I picked up a Bersa T380 last Friday. Only one range trip so far, but I like it a lot. For a $250 gun ($257 at Bud's), the trigger surprised me with it's smoothness. Accurate too, and negligible recoil. It's definitely worth a look. 23 ozs, unloaded.

how many times do you go to the range

At least once a week. I keep my range bag with me, in case I'm in the right neighborhood around lunch time. I'm on the road all day, and work from my home.

Choose 3 concealed carry guns and explain

    1. Bersa T380/Ruger SP101 (Summer) 2. S&W M&P 9/Stoeger Cougar 8000 (Spring/Fall) 3. S&W Model 65 .357/Springer 1911 SS (Winter)

    Anybody Not Like Shooting .357?

I don't see much difference between my 4" 65-5 using .357, and my SP101 with 38+P. Recoil is comfortable enough that I usually go through a box of shells when it goes to the range. Maybe it is a grip thing. I use Hogue rubber grips, and they take the sting out of things pretty well.

What is the last gun that you bought?

This could be a never ending thread. I picked up another one Friday. A Bersa Thunder in .380 followed me home from Bud's in Paris. It'll be Tuesday before I can make it to the range, but it feels nice in my hand. I've heard a lot of good things about them, and hardly any complaints. I ordered...
