I have used that range quite a few times when I lived there. It's the only outdoor range they have on Ohau. I hope they can resolve the situation. There aren't many indoor ranges either on the island.
Glad to see while definitely not a lot of permits approved yet, they are approving permits!!
I was stationed there for a few years then afterwards lived there. From November 1995 to February 2011.
The process for buying a gun is definitely different then what some of you are used to lol. I...
As I have gotten older, I find my interest in firearms has shifted into more blackpowder. Oh sure I own an AR15. And also modern pistols like my Hellcat that I use for my CCW. I also own a couple double action revolvers and a single action revolver which is my New Vaqeuro. But I also own a CVA...
Funny I saw this post. My now ex wife made a comment to a post I made on Facebook. It was in reference to a Christmas present she got me several years ago. She bought me a Mini-14. The way she did it made that Christmas memorable. Though we are no longer married, I treasure that memory. First...
While your right the peephole doesn't have to be dead center in a door, but in my house there is no way to approach the front door without being visible due to the glass in the door. I can't approach the door from any angle but head on. Hence my comment about crouching lol. But luckily the glass...
I don't have a peep hole and even if I did the glass at the top part of the entry door makes me visible if I approach the door unless I walk up to the door crouched some. I would feel rather silly doing that lol. I don't live in Chicago anymore, but in southern Louisiana. While definitely not...
Good point! My friends will let me know they are on the way. Very few people have rung my doorbell when I am home during the day when I am not expecting anyone, and so far none at night. The security storm door is just an additional layer of protection for the unexpected. However I do concede...
I grew up in Chicago many years ago. Our front door had a small diamond shape glass at the top that was frosted. No way knowing who was there without opening the door. It didn't have a peep hole for quite a few years. If the doorbell rang we just opened the door. Of course that wasn't at 2 am...
Yes you definitely will be good. What sucks is I am originally from Illinois and live in Louisiana. My ccw of course is not recognized. And according to Illinois law I can't get an out of state ccw because the law states non residents must come from a state in which their gun laws are similar to...
You can travel in Illinois with a ccw permit from another state. There is a provision in the law that allows it even though Illinois doesn't recognize other state permits. The catch is you must be traveling through the state, not just visiting, and you cannot exit the car while wearing it. Stop...
Thanks for the ammo suggestions. I definitely won't be using the ammo I bought. I do like the Tomcat as it is unique. To bad Beretta made the design a little weak where it cracks. I read where they tried to increase the slide mass in an attempt to reduce the chances of cracking but it didn't...
So was at my local gunstore yesterday and they had a tax free promotion on quite a few things. Long story short, I bought a Beretta Tomcat Inox. Never owned a 32 and in the last few years I have been on a mouse gun kick. I like the feel of the fat grip.
They had 32 ammo available. It was the...
I just saw this. Haven't been on THR very often during the deployment. And when I got back last month I have been very busy. Definitely not what I was expecting when I logged in. I saw that a GoFundMe was linked so I made a small contribution. Least I could do for a fellow high roader and army vet.
