SBR temporary barrel length change question

And it's an urban legend that just won't die

So a sorta-fixer Ithaca 37 followed me home, thoughts?

I saw that posted on NES and knew it wouldn't last long. Nice score. Since the barrel has lost it's "collectability," you could send it to Rose Action Sports for a thread-in choke and front sight bead. I did that with a Rem Mod 11 someone had chopped the barrel on, and now I have a very...

    best candidate for a SBS?

I went with a Rem 870. Using the factory 14" barrel, I can add a one-round mag extension, and it handles like a dream. I had the barrel engraved, rather than the receiver, and when needed, I just swap the 26" barrel back in and I'm a totally incognito Title I gun.

    5320.20 for suppressor

I think HRnightmare's fingers got ahead of him, and he meant to type "suppressors," in keeping with the thread.

    Can Complete!

A gas-buster charging handle is cheaper/easier than messing with the gas block. More effective, too.

    Home Engraving?

Well, your quote was specifically about the name, so... But, on the bright side, only twice isn't bad.

    Home Engraving?

This makes twice, then. This has been beat to death, or so I thought. The 1/6" requirement is for the serial number only. Here's Chapter, and Verse, brought to you by the ATF Handbook and 27 CFR 479.102:

    SBR Engraving and Abbreviation

Gosh, Mike, I hope it doesn't say "Revokable."

    NFA engraving?

Right, but I think Willie's point is that it's not an obviously marked (defaced) lower. You can shoot it in an SBR configuration with a properly engraved upper, but then put it back into pristine-looking SP-1 configuration for "everyday" wear. Kind of a "stealth" SBR. Plus, if you ever decide...

19-year-old looking to own an AR-15 SBR?

This isn't hard at all. 1. Buy an AR15, complete, in your state. Dealer or private sale, doesn't matter. 2. Either establish a trust, and efile your Form 1, "Application to Make and Register a Firearm," or go the traditional paper route and get finger prints, CLEO sign-off, etc. and then...

    NFA engraving?

Fish gotta swim, bees gotta buzz, and people who don't know what they're talking about gotta pass more bad info on the 'net. [CITE: 27CFR479.102] [Page 188-189] TITLE 27--ALCOHOL, TOBACCO PRODUCTS AND FIREARMS CHAPTER II--BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES, DEPARTMENT OF...

I SO need to get this engraved on my next lower.

    Gun "safety checks" on youtube

We'll have to agree to disagree here. See how much more respectful that comment is than this one: Which is, frankly, beneath what I'd expect from a Moderator on The High Road.

    Gun "safety checks" on youtube

I have to say I agree with the OP and some of the other posters on here. I find it needless and off-putting. I'm watching to see some video content--a review, an explanation, a "how-to," etc. I don't much care if the guy unloaded the gun before he started the video, he doesn't need to "show me"...

    Using motor oil on guns.

Yes, but benZera already said it better than I. In addition, the test, while extensive, did test what I wasn't interested in (corrosion resistance), and didn't test what I was (the ability to resist burn-off and stay wet well into a shooting session).

    Using motor oil on guns.

I'm always amazed at people that can't see past marketing hype. It's as if I put the words "gun oil" over the word "Mobil1" it would suddenly be OK, "because it specifically says 'gun.'"
