What is the most painless way of killing a heavily wounded mammal?

He's asking the same silly question over at National Gun Forum. I smell a troll.

    Were you an armed child?

Great topic -- really shows the difference btwn just the past 2 - 3 generations. I'm in my mid-50s, grew up mostly in southern New Mexico, but the son of two New Yawkers (yeah, the city, not upper NY state). Dad liked his pump BB gun, Mom was afraid of anything that went bang. Despite that, I...

    Kel-Tec PF 9

Buckshot, Did you have any issues with the magazine release? Did the mag release cleanly when pressed or did you have to hyperextend the release button in order to get it to release?

    Kel-Tec PF 9

Great construction and size / weight. But the trigger is very uncomfortable and the mag release is difficult to use. Good idea. Needs improvement.

    Comanche Revolvers.....

The Comanche revolver is about the most poorly made piece of junk I've ever seen. Ordinarily one would have to abuse a revolver for many years with malice aforethought, in order to have one perform so poorly. We purchased several of them for the gun club for use in the "NRA First Steps"...

What is wrong with this picture?

OK, I figggered it out...Cannonball's "cartridge" thrown by "man hands". Yeah, that's the ticket...

Do you belong to the NRA?

Life Member and NRA Instructor +1+ LBTRS -- the clown who ran my "major corporation" into the ground was paid >$30M/year, while our stock and retirement accounts went to hell. Wayne is STAND-UP and deserves every penny and then some. A man like him would be making 5-6X his salary in the...

    125 grain .357 mag loads.

No, this does not affect any .357 rifles, since there's no gap to jump and no forcing cone. Fact is, I load my .357 rifle ammo completely different from my revolver ammo (and keep it separate, of course).

    Costco is officially anti-gun, anti-CCW

Well that relly BLOWS! I didn't notice a sign at the Costco on Alexander Blvd., in Albuquerque, but I might have missed it, too. The Sam's Clubs and WWs are and have been posted for some time...DESPITE the fact that the very first CCL-Holder shooting in New Mexico occurred at a WW, while a WW...

What is a good price on a

Ditto for Jim Watson as far as being just another used gun. I have sold several similar revolvers and I'd say that $350.00 is about as high as it should be, and only if it's in 95% or better condition. Actually the Mod 66 runs about the same price or just a few dollars more.

Looking for a .41 Mag to complement my .41 lever rifle.

The velocities you get out of that 18-20" rifle tube is impressive. I chrono'ed 170 gr JHPs at 2071 fps, 220s at 1810, and 265 gr at 1593. Not too shabby! I did notice that the 255 gr on up, when loaded max, felt much like a .30-30 as far as recoil. But all the 220 gr and under were fairly mild...

Looking for a .41 Mag to complement my .41 lever rifle.

I've had both the Blackhawk and the S&W and personally prefer the S&W. But either way, they're a great combo with the Marlin. I'm on my second Marlin, having had the Cowboy model you have and now the round barrel model. I was hesitant to take the Cowboy model hunting 'cause she was just so dang...

    .80 caliber handgun?

Maybe I'm not big enough to shoot an .88, but I would love to have one just to tick off the "antis". I remember the words of a police officer friend of mine, many yrs ago, when someone asked him "Why do you carry a .44 Magnum?", his reply was "Because no one makes a .55 Magnum!" Too bad...

How do you organize and store your ammo?

Mostly in MTM plastic boxes inside of military ammo cans. I still have many of the ones that followed me home 30 yrs ago when I was in. I have all of them labeled, which makes it easy for me when I go to the range. 30 and 50 cal cans are the perfect size for ammo or reloading components and...

What's your best gun trade you've made?

Oh yeah, how could I have forgotten...my first-ever gun deal was when I was a teen. I paid $100 for two Mod 94s and a Ruger 10/22. I sold one 94 for $65 and the 10/22 for $50, then used the other Mod 94 for many yrs and finally sold it for $150.00, years later. Dang, if only I could do that...

What's your best gun trade you've made?

Traded a used H&K USP40c and a used Savage Mod 110 in .308 for a Suzuki 250 factory racer + helmet + trailer + leathers + boots + extra parts. Sold the bike and accessories for >$3K...a bit more than the firearms were worth. The owner knew I was getting the better deal but didn't care because he...

    Python, what's it worth?

What dfariswheel said!! I waited forever and finally got a blued 4" -- paid $700.00 ~3 yrs ago. I have been offered $900.00 for it. It's maybe 90-93% with a beat up factory box, no papers, one previous owner. Feels like heaven and shoots like a dream. My thaing is that I couldn't pay that...

    Python, what's it worth?

I've noticed that with Pythons, the BB price doesn't mean a heck of a lot. If your SS Python is in ANY kind of good condition, I'd hazard to say that $700 is a very good price. I've definitely known of lesser Pythons to sell for a higher price. ~Gunrunner

    I want to get a 40 cal

I have owned and carried S&Ws for >30 yrs and would rather have a baseball bat than a Sigma. That said, I put Glock somewhere south of Sigma. Look at the Taurus or the Astra for an affordable and safe handgun. Get some professional instruction and practice, practice, practice! So many folks...
