I had a long post on why the Springfield Loaded blows the doors off the Taurus but my computer froze lol. In short...though the Taurus was flawless in reliability for me it wasn't near as accurate at 25 yds and the craftsmanship couldn't even compare. Loaded SA is the best bet under 800...

As someone who owns all three (not subcompact but compact or fullsize) the glock is the superior. The M&P is right behind it and the XD isn't exactly trash either. They are all quality... just feel then all in your hand and pick which one you like the best.

Very good gun. I love mine. You'll have many years good shooting with that one. 1911 45s are very smooth shooters. Much better than polymer frame 45s IMO. Congrats.

If it's the stainless steel loaded champion from Springfield Armory you are referring to...it is one, no THE prettiest 1911 under 1000 you can buy IMO. You won't be disappointed. Drives nails as well. EDIT: Comes with cocobolo wood grips (mine had night sights but Im sure you can get them...

You can get a sig stainless 1911 for well under 750. Runs like a champ but Ive never shot hollowpoints through it.

Being a former red beret (hense the name) I can tell you for a fact the arms room issue for the Special Forces at Bragg is the Berreta 9mm...however, as one stated before the Special Forces guys do whatever they want and carry anything the want. They usually carried sigs and high end 1911's...

Glock 19 feels like an extension of my arm. Perfect grip angle. I use a slip on grip to beef up the grip but with that on there its a dream.

I have a 45 and it's ptobably the best gun I have. Eats everything, feels incredible (way better than the 9 and 40s) solid. 5 stars for the Baby Eagle 45. Edit-It's not polymer either btw
