    Info on a S&W 4006

Had a guy that wanted my beat up, loose crane, no finish Brazilian contract S&W 1917. Traded me a pristine 4006 w/holster and 3 mags for it. Nice gun! Smoooooth double action pull. I shot a couple of IDPA matches with it and then sold it off because I didn't care for the weight. Still regret...

Model 88 FNH High Power 9mm (Parkerized)

Sounds a bit over-priced to me. I would be looking for a used HP or one of the Charles Daly HP's. I thought the new FN's were going for around $600-650. You oughta be able to find a nice one for around that price level.

    Dove hunting with rifle sights?

I used to shoot skeet in AZ with an 870 Express with the 18.5" smooth bore slug tube w/rifle sights. Ran 75 straight one day. Used to beat guys with Perazzis and Krieghoffs. They weren't happy about a $200 shotgun beatin their $20,000 outfits. Only problem is, that sucker is a bit loud at...

    Federal Nyclad ?

.38 Nyclad comes in two flavors...125 gr and 158 gr. The 158 gr IS a +P load. the 125 is not. The 158 is a SWCHP, the 125 is a "rounded" hollowpoint. These are 158 gr +P (from my last box..boo-hoo)

you know you're a gun owner when...

You can never drive your car to Mexico because of all the live ammo and shell casings lying under the seats..... You have a standing agreement with the local tire shops for all their wheel weights..... You buy a gun just because someone gave you some old ammo in that caliber......

Everybody now.. what's your all time favorite gun slogan?

"If you're not shooting, you should be reloading. If you're not reloading, you should be moving. If you're not shooting, reloading or moving, you're gonna be dead."- Clint Smith

    THE BEST .22 Rifle Ever

Remington Nylon 66...hands down. I used to have myself a small cottage industry going to pawn shops, picking up 66's that had been traded in because they "jammed". Well, it turns out that most folks never clean a .22 and after about 10,000 rounds these fine weapons started jamming. Guess what...

Ruger 380 LCP Review by Jeff Quinn

Man, I swear, everything about that design screams "Kel-Tec"...wonder if any lawsuits (Glock vs. Sigma anyone?) are gonna creep up in the near future? Be that as it may, I'm gonna get one to complement my P32.

    "Stacking" Ammunition

I stack in my Kel-Tec P32. This is because of the rounds design, it's short, so JHP's will cause rimlock if the entire magazine is loaded with them. So the chamber is loaded with a JHP, first round in the mag is JHP, the rest are FMJ. Any other caliber, good quality JHP all the way.

    Gun lube question

+1 Tetra gun grease.....has fluoropolymers that actually bond to the metal to reduce friction. If ya can't get that, a little graphite on yer slide rails will last longer than thin gun oil or grease.

    Model 57 out of time

Did my own 57 when it started to go out of time. Replaced the hand and the cylinder stop both and cured the problem. I used the Kuhnausen manual as a reference.

    I Got My Dream Job!!!!

I worked part-time for a gun shop/range in Tucson, AZ, while I was stationed down there. I loved it! We carried in the store also...got to be a rangemaster, part-time gunsmith, friend to all shooters. Only problem was (and you'll figure this out yerself)...you spend more at the store than you...

Only one at the range today

My 65 y/o father and I had a great day at the range yesterday...it's called our back porch! Shot up about 500 rounds of .22 trying to figure out which one of our rifles was the most accurate. Winner? 1961 Marlin 39 "Mountie"...dime sized group fired at 50 yds with standard velocity CCI. Shot by...

    value of Colt 1903??

I bought my "shooter grade" on in 1995 for $250...about 85% blue left, fire blued trigger and screws still looked good.

    Considering a Security-Six

Built like a tank! One of the older posts here mentioned that Ruger put 10,000 rounds of full-house .357 through the Security-Six before it went out of time...I've owned 3 of em and never had a problem.

First purchase of '08! Ruger Service Six!

Hmmm, are all these old Rugers finally coming out of the closet and into the limelight? My first purchase this year was an early Security -Six with fixed sights (early ones had em- this is a 1972). $290 at a local show....

    9mm Self Defence Ammo

Any of the 115gr HP's from a major manufacturer are gonna be decent nowadays. I like the Winchester White Box 115 gr JHP. You can get them from Wal-mart for about $15.00 per 50.

    Model 13 help

I sold my minty Mod 13 to my best friend about 10 years ago for $200, so that price is a steal today. But I still have dibs on the one I sold if he ever gets rid of it (I've tried to buy it back 3 times!).

    Marine Magnum

Regolith, you can't really go wrong with the 18.5" IC smooth slug barrel with rifle sights. With mine, I've shot skeet, quail, pheasant, done HD, deer hunted, and with steel shot, that IC chokes down to a Modified and I shoot ducks with it!
