Does the currently available Ruger Bisley Vaquero (.45 Colt) have the New Vaquero frame or the original frame; can it safely shoot the heavy "Ruger only" loads from Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, etc., or is it restricted from those high powered loads as is the New Vaquero?

Thanks rc, I'll try that. I have whacked them pretty good with no success but I'll add some lube and try again. The gun arrived with one mag in it and the other in the box so whoever at Colt put it together must not have noticed, cared, whatever. Outside of this minor issue... it's a really...

I have a NIB Colt Commander (04691). Have not shot it, field stripped it or lubed it yet. It came with 2 Colt 7 rd magazines, neither of which will fully insert. They slide in about 2/3 of the way then stop. Partially depressing the mag release allows the magazine to be easily inserted the rest...

I have a SA Mil-Spec with a short trigger and a Colt Commander with long trigger. I much prefer the long trigger as I have long fingers and that puts the pad of my index finger where it needs to be. Seems to me "short vs long" trigger depends on the anatomy of your hand.

Hi Bad k, You could call Springfield and ask about darker grips. Also check out the grips on the Kimber website. Another popular source is Esmeralda -google Esmeralda's Grips. FWIW, I have a parked SA Mil-Spec with plain vanilla grips. They were reddish so I used Citrus strip on them then...
