    Glock 17 or Beretta 92FS

love them both I've got both a Glock 19 and a Beretta 92FS. Both are dead nuts reliable. I think the G19 works better as a carry piece and the Beretta as a home defense weapon. The Beretta IMHO has the best safety features of any semi-auto.

    When to strip clean revolver?

Depends on how dirty the ammo is. If you're shooting jacketed ammo, then removal of the sideplate is rarely needed. However, if you shoot a lot of lead target loads then I think every 1000 rounds or so. At least that's what my training was. Removal of the S&W sideplate is easy once you have...

Sig! Glock! Smith and Wesson! Time to stand up!

Can I get my name microstamped on the firing pin like some golfers do with their balls?

    4" .38 Special +P or 3" .44 Special

.44spl - no question! Sorry one question. Why did S&W stop making the 696? I'll bet if they bring it back it will be over $900.

    Springfield XD-9 or Ruger SR9...?

I think I might hold off on the SR9, until Ruger shows more support for the buyers that are having problems with theirs. You can read about the "peening" and magazine problems over on Rugerfourm.com Like user easyg said:the XD9 and the S&W M&P9 are the next best thing to the Glock G17

    Who's Kel-Tec P-3AT has been 100%

I have two first generation P3ATs. I did the fluff & buff when I first got them. Both are kept very clean and fired very little. They are 100% with about 400 rounds through each. I never fire more than a box without cleaning.

    Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro .45

I had one for about a week. No one could get it to fire more a mag without a jam. The ergomonics of this pistol are fantastic. For $200 I'd be very tempted to try it again since there are others who report no problems. Elliot

Who Uses Ball Ammo In Their Carry Weapon...

FMJ for me in my P-32 and P3AT (.380); anything larger gets fed HP's. Elliot

21 out of 100 ROUNDS JAMED!!

I had similar problems with my PT-145 -- all Failure to Feed. I tried to correct it myself (having deal with Taurus service many times). This was a big waste of time. I loved the package (size, weight, firepower, etc.) I traded it back where I bought it for a Glock. I'm normally a revolver and...

    gold taurus 85

Sounds like I have the same gun as you. If the cylinder is also goldish in color than the weapon is indeed Total Titanium. The actual barrel is an insert made of steel and it has a steel hammer, trigger and some other internal parts. It's a nice gun that I've had for about 6 or 7 years and carry...

    S&B 9mm steel $5.99

Thanks for the Link, I just bought a case of Blazer Brass .45's and it also went up a dollar over the printed flyer price. I called them and they said the ammo prices are going up faster than they can print flyers. Elliot

Inserting a round into the chamber.

The ability to chamber a round in this fashion was one of the major selling points for the Beretta 92/M9 series. I didn't know it was Ok in the Px4 - but the Beretta people probably know more than I.

Looking at a Taurus Model 85

I think the model 85 is the best of the Taurus revolvers. But, you must do the "check-out" as has been stated. Something I noticed at the last few gun shows however - The new 85's were not all that cheaper than a new S&W 642. I would shop for a used 85 ( $150 -$200) - if you feel comfortable...

    TAURUS PT 145 PROBLEMS

I'm another unlucky 3rd gen PT-145 former owner. I think the design is at fault, the feed "ramp" is more of a wall than a ramp and mags that seem to be questionable. That being said there are plenty of happy taurus 145 owners around. This was a very nice gun when it functioned - low recoil etc...

Volquartsen parts in a Ruger Mark II anyone?

I had my Ruger Gov't model Volquartsenize by a place call "On Target Guns" about eight years ago. I sent them the entire gun and they put in all the parts. It worked out great - Still holding about a 2.5 Lb. pull that's fairly crisp and no overtravel. I don't know if On Target is still in...

    Soft Air

I use airsoft exact duplicates of my Beretta and Glock for practice. With proper face protection the're great for "one on one" shootouts with your buddies. A little too loud for my condo, but fun outside.

    P3AT: 7lb Trigger Normal?

Your Trigger is Normal Seven Lbs. is just about right. The DAO trigger was designed to feel like a revolver trigger. True, in such a light and small gun, it seems strange at first. You really can't change it's weight without major experimentation.

opinions on a pocket carry gun

Taurus TI 85, kel-Tec P-3AT or P-11 or 642 All work for me. I also like Lasergrips on the Taurus for late night carry. The P-3AT gets about 85% of my carry time.
