I started making my own case lube. One part lanoline to ten parts 99% alcohol. I spray this mixture on a blue shop towel and roll the cases so as to not get lube on the case necks or shoulders.
No more dented cases.
These pistol rounds head space off of the case mouth so you would be out of spec. Additionally, as mentioned above, if the extractor has a good grip it will go off, if not you would run into a light strike scenario or failure to fire at all since the case is to far in the chamber.
Just read an article on CNBC.com. Goldman Sachs raised their future price on copper to $11,000/metric ton. This will undoubtedly affect the shooting sports as far as ammo and reloading component prices.
Every barrel will have it's own node. They may be close so it depends what you are trying to accomplish. Shooting matches or hunting. I have a 6 dasher that I had the barrel reset.(chopped off 1 1/2 inches from the chamber end, 30 inch to 28.5 and re-chambered) The accuracy node changed while...
Dillon set up for 38 spl. Weeks went by and thought is was set up for 9mm. Case stuck in die. Had use a vise and some vice grips and a fair amount of lube to get it unstuck.
I have had decent service from 10ring as well. I always call ahead because of the long drive for me. I will go to Carter Country in Stafford for Nosler rifle bullets which 10ring does not carry. I shoot out at bayou rifles and will usually find some 223. Lately it seems everyone is getting into...
Here is what I sent today.
Dear Mr. O,
Please do your research. You sounded uninformed on what “heavy weapons” are. Also, civilian owned AK-47’s and AR-15’s are not machine guns, they have no auto sear and can only fire one bullet with each pull of the trigger. That’s why the federal...
One big variable would be the amount of training under stress. Most people who carry are OK at the range shooting at paper but there is little or no training with a moving target that would probably take your focus to the point that you would think you weapon failed when in reality you just did...
I generally pocket carry which, if you don't practice, worse than IWB carry. I mean generally speaking, I would just try and get away. The real problem is when you have your wife or children or whoever with you and something like occurs, running away is not really an option, to me at least. One...
You should probably consider some sort of liability insurance in addition to an attorney. Somebody gets hurt on your property even if it is not firearm related could be problematic.
There is a new movie out called 21 Jump Street featuring actors Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. This comedy is about some marginal cops going under cover as high school students.
The issue I have with this movie is how these actors are handling their weapons. They run with guns drawn and...
The Kahr P45 was the first pistol I owned in 2007. Same deal, it would light strike about 6 out of 100 of Winchester White Box. Sent is back to Kahr with this as the issue. Got it back three weeks later with a polished feed ramp. Go figure. The pistol never had a feed or ejection issue just the...
I can only speak for my own experience with Kahr pistols. I purchased new a P45 in March of 2007. First time out it was light striking like 6 times out of a hundred. Ok, give it the 200 round break in a shot. Consistantly would not go bang on average 6% of the time. Contacted Kahr about the...
I can't see the wax holding things together after it leaves the barrel. I do not believe that the wax is tough enough to handle all of the energy not to mention wax debris left in the barrel.
I suppose your own testing at different ranges would be the only sure answer to your question.
