Big loss for concealed carry in NY court today

Dunno where folks are getting this impression. Try June 2013, and it's not too late to appeal in this term.

    Lawsuit over theater firearm restrictions

Regents of the University of Colorado v. Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Colorado has two separate preemption statutes: The CHL/concealed carry preemption (which allows carry in all areas of the state unless specifically prohibited by STATE law) and the general firearms preemption law...

    Oregon Castle Doctrine??

Oregon used to be a duty to retreat state (which did NOT apply inside of your home) between 1981 and 2007. A case called State v. Sandoval fixed this problem.

    National Right-To-Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced

I guess the folks not supporting this bill had better demand that New York State, Massachusetts, and others be able to arrest people transporting handguns across those states to another jurisdiction.

What the heck is going on with the FL Dept of Licensing?

If you are within Florida, or near Florida, you can go to any county sheriffs office to do electronic fingerprinting. That'll cut 4 to 6 weeks off the processing time. -Lonnie

    NRA Lawsuit against Washington State

Ok, let's make something clear. Some countries DO NOT ALLOW you to renounce your citizenship. For example, if a Canadian citizen becomes an American citizen, ICE will require you to renounce your previous country's citizenship. However, under Canadian law you are NOT ALLOWED to renounce...

Orange County sheriff taking away hundreds of CCWs

Sent email to Hutchens: Undoubtedly you are getting a tremendous amount of email on the subject so I will try to be a little different. Your new requirements would be constitutional under the 14th amendment if it were not for the existence of PC12031 and PC626.9. Ask your attorneys if you need...

Changing My Stance On Open Carry

You know, what's funny is that it's always the concealed carry only crowd that bashes OC'ers and admonishes them for open carry. I've never seen it the other way around.

Are Standard Cap Mag Bans Vulnerable to Challenge?

Your reading is wrong. The word "reasonable" was only used to deal with the delt with Miller case, and was used all over the dissenting opinion. This implies that it'll be rational basis test, which a mag ban *might* pass through, but Scalia made it very clear it cannot be a rational basis...

Incorporation now being argued before the 9th Circuit court...

Wrong again. The panel that's taking on this case is a pro-individual rights panel that flat out said in it's last ruling that incorporation is a certainty if the supreme court overruled the idea of it being a collective right.

Incorporation now being argued before the 9th Circuit court...

    This is what 42USC1983 allows.

Open carry in National Forest in Washington?

Open carry is legal in Washington State, so the whole idea of "concealed only" is a load of crap.

DC to ban magazines and clips over 10 rounds

What will likely happen is that Heller may actually either drop the case or file an amended complaint based on the new statutes. He *might* also want to go after the pistol carry licensing law, since that bans both open and concealed carry without license.

Incorporation now being argued before the 9th Circuit court...

Reply briefs are due by 10/2, oral argument usually comes within 30 days of that, decision is usually handed down 60-90 days. Given the panel on the subject, we got at least 2 votes for incorporation. So look for a decision to be made before the end of January.
