I grew up shooting a 1967 model 41 and a mid 70's Supermatic trophy. I thought the accuracy was equal but I greatly prefer the model 41. Neither one ever jammed on me even once with any ammo.
The 41, it just feels right. I also shot a lot of 1911's and the weight, feel, balance of the model...

38 super is a great round, Winchester silvertips or the new Corbon dpx loaded hot. 1911 feel and familiarity. Ten round mags. Should work just fine.

About 1974 I saw Bill Jordan do a demo at the UTA ROTC range. He did about a 45 min. demo. Broke the aspirin tablets point shooting, did the ping pong ball drop to draw and ball fell into empty holster. Most amazing thing he did was ask a volunteer from the audience to hold a blank...
