    Gun safe in garage?

If that's where it'll fit, that's where it will go. You should reflect if you keep welding/cutting torches or serious power tools in your garage.

    Guns as investments

That is really the issue - speculation. The astronomical increase in the price of those weapons is due to government regulation, not because of any normal market factor. You'll have to make an educated guess and bear a lot of risk if you follow this investment strategy. In addition to...

    Guns as investments

I think you'll realize the greatest capital appreciation by investing in a well diversified portfolio over a long time-horizon. You can thank those who do for providing for your retirement when you get there.

    Merry Christmas to Me!!

I hear ya :\ It is all I have used thus far. New rifle, so about 2 boxes. I'm happy with the results. My usual go-to round is the Remy Core-Lokt (my preference in .30-06), but I like the idea of having the 'enhanced' 200 yard reach with the LEVERevolution ammunition. The delta is about 6...

    Merry Christmas to Me!!

I purchased a 336SS earlier this month. In a word, I love it. Walnut and bluing look nice, but the SS caught my eye. Shoots well, feels good and looks great. What more can you ask? I admit, I did the whole 'scout scope' thing. Just mounted everything up so I haven't had a chance to take it...

How to check a gun's chamber

You cannot see what the gun is pointed at. For all you know it is pointed at a 16" thick concrete wall. From what I can tell, the muzzle does not point down a hallway. Also, the gun clearly has a plastic safety tie through the action and he does perform a visual check. A bit of a tempest in...

    Why the continuing ammo shortage?

Depends on the quality you are buying. Seems a couple years ago in the Portland, Metro area you could get bulk (Federal, Remy Golden Bullets, Wildcat, etc) 22LR for ~$.025 - $.030 per round. You would pay a little more for CCI mini-mags. The price sounds about right for 9mm. I don't know...

    Making jerky

We've had an earlier version of this product (http://www.amazon.com/Nesco-American-FD-1010-Gardenmaster-Dehydrator/dp/B00005OA2T/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1261367548&sr=8-1) for about 17 years. It has been very good to us.

Should hunting partners share the blame for an accidential death?

You need to flesh out your case. Too many 'facts and circumstances' regarding your hypothetical (?) question are left unanswered. In general I would say that I believe in personal responsibility.

    Winchester Model 70

AB - I currently shoot a Remington 700 SPS Buckmaster Edition in .30-06. I've never been too impressed with it, but it was inexpensive and shoots well. Let us know how you like your new 70 after you shoot it. I may just have to pick one up in a couple months.

I've had my eye on the Extreme Weather SS in .30-06. I hope to see one around here so I can take a look first hand. If I find any of them I'll send you my thoughts.

    Lost 2 birds from a jammed gun....getting a new 12 ga

Yes. I have a Nova and I like it a lot. Shoots well and is very easy to cycle. One tip is to watch your pinky when you wrap it around the fore stock to cycle the action. There is a gap and it is easy to smash/cut the tip of your finger. I have to hold my Nova in a different way than I do...
