    642,need help.

I'd vote for a wilson combat spring kit. I have two J-frames with that kit installed and love them. Several hundred rounds through each without one failure. I didn't use the lightest hammer spring in the kit however b/c of the reasons mentioned. But it is a night and day difference. It is only...

    Look what came home yesterday.

I have been wanting one of those for a while, congrats.

    Nightstand gun

My bed is up against wall on one side, I mounted a holster on the frame rail nearest to the wall. That way I can grab it, and still have it semi-hidden in the room. Also I always know where its at and it would not be accessable to someone else entering the room.

    beretta tomcat

Well it didn't fly off the gun, it just lifted up a little bit and would not go back into battery with the next round. Well a Glock .380 you will not find, they are not imported into the US.

    beretta tomcat

I have one and it makes a great BUG, or jogging/light carry gun. I had the slide jump off the frame once after about 100 rounds. I took it back to the gunshop, and it has never malfed since, and I probally have about 400 rounds through it now. It has virtually no recoil and is uber easy to load...

    Wife is shopping - Xd / CZ/ M&P

I own ( at least a variant of) all the guns you mentioned. I like the CZ the best. For carry I would suggest a CZ-2075 RAMI. My GF has been stealing mine and sticking me with her P239 lately...lol. The CZ's are heavier than the polymer XD's and M&P's, but they just seem to feel and shoot better...

    Deciding on first handgun

Well you say range and home defense, so I would suggest a Beretta 92fs/M9. You can buy them brand new under $500 with three mags. Plenty of accesories and cheap mags availible for them. I have a 30 rounder for mine when it is on HD detail. Plus 9mm is cheaper to shoot than a .40 or a .45. They...

    Concealed Carry Question

Well sounds like you made the mistake 90% of CCL holders make (including me). Buying too big of a gun to CC everyday. One thing you are going to notice about the XD, is that it is thicker than a 1911, the compact version is still a rather large gun. I personally would have bought a Micro 1911...

7.62x25 Tokarev is obviously a good handgun round...Why isn't it more popular?

Lets continue to keep it unpopular, keeps ammo really cheap. The CZ-52 is by far my favorite range pistol. The thing emmits giant fireballs and is loud as hell, plus much cheaper to shoot than a 9mm, and people always want to know what the hell it is.

    CZ 52 for Home Defense

I have kept mine ready to rock and roll in my house as HD gun before. It is really accurate, and if you miss the giant flame and extra loud kaboom it makes will make the BG's wet themself. You could do much worse than a CZ-52 for a HD weapon. Ive heard of some people CC'ing them, but I just...

    Any salvation for the .25ACP?

If you are looking for a mousegun in rimfire, go wheelgun. There are alot of nice .22mag wheelies, Smith makes a really light weight J-frame style one and so does Taurus. My GF carried the Taurus .22mag for a long time. Isn't the Black Widow single action? That is better than a sharpstick I...

A question about buying a springfield .45 GI

I have a 4" "champion", GI. Its been a great gun. As said before the sights are not that great. A milspec might be a better option if you are planning to make a BBQ gun. But I bought mine for nostalgia kind of reasons. I think they look best just left alone.

Ah the feeling of a 1911...pure bliss

The 1911 may be a large heavy gun, but it conceals/carries better than alot of polymer double stacks. My commander in sparks leather, is actually more comforable to carry than my tupperware.

I've often thought of buying from them, but why aren't their handgun prices listed?

    A non-Glock owners thread

Lots of handguns and no Glocks here. They just don't fit my hand. I think they are well made guns, but just not for me.

    Gander Mountain's Used Guns

I have bought one handgun from them. The price was a little high, but it was the only one I could find around and I really wanted it. I have had no issues with it, but they do offer some kind of extended warranty with their firearms. I find their prices to be high, and their service so-so. I...

Getting the most from the snubbys

I think one of the best ways to practice with the J-frame is outdoors. I go out to my uncles farm and set up multiple targets. I practice drawing shooting/moving and reloading. Indoor range practice can only teach you so much. Taking slow accurate shots at a non moving paper target is alright...

    Auto of Choice

Are you looking for a Fullsized?, Compact?, Sub Compact? Sized Gun. Do you prefer DAO, DA/SA, ? What's your budget? What's the primary use of this gun, A CCW, home defense, range queen? These are a few questions to think about. I personally love the new XD's, you can get them in...

    Anybody CCW military surplus pistols?

I'd suggest a FEG PA-63, or a CZ-82/83 for milsurp CCWs. I have both and they have been dead stone reliable and the 9x18 is a decent caliber. You can find practice ammo pretty cheap and also there is a decent ammount of SD ammo availble. Also the FEG will fit in most PPK holsters I have come...

    Hi-Point .40

My brother bought one of the .45's as a "truck" gun. It is defenatly not a BBQ gun. It is very heavy, the trigger isn't smooth, and the ergonomics aren't great, and it is not all that fun to shoot, also you need a punch to field strip it. But does any of that matter in a SD situation...NO...
