    Katie Couric gets it right!!!

I'm very surprised to learn that a professional "journalist" who, after covering this story for a year, had no idea how long the handgun prohibition has been in effect in DC. Just more evidence of how clueless Ms. Couric is on 2nd amendment issues. She remains the empty skirt she has always...

How much to pay for a MKIII Ruger

If you don't object to the 22/45 variety, you can save nearly $100. The 22/45 w/ bull barrel is going for $250 NIB, and its an excellent plinker. I couldn't imagine myself shooting any 22LR more accurately. It's a real PITA to reassemble after field stripping, however.

Ruger 22/45 Mark III-Yea or Nay?

Here, here. The Remingtons tend to jam into the bottom of the feed ramp while feeding, unless you point the top cartridge upward before inserting the mag (PITA). Then, I can usually cycle through all 10. I would suggest going with the cheap Federal brown bulk pack if you must shoot JHPs - my...

Another gun - did I do something stupid?

Lightspeed, Thanks for the Tactical Solutions tip. Please give us an update after you try out the new upper. It would look pretty cool on top of my 22/45, but how does it perform? I assume an aluminum barrel and receiver would give the pistol quite a different feel. JC

    $300 Gp100?

I bought a 4" blue from an online auction for 275. When it arrived, it looked great, but was out of time and had a weird hammer. You get what you pay for. I swapped it for a new CZ after 1 week - got my 275 back in trade. That will be my last Ruger wheelie. Only smiths and colts from now on.

    .22 Auto Recommendations

I went with the Ruger MkIII 22/45, and really enjoy the pistol. It's very smooth, points easily (for me), is quite accurate, and eats anything. Yeah, the mag disconnect and tedious reassembly are a bummer, as well as the billboard, but I'm still happy as heck that I bought the 22/45. Can't...

    Need help with gun choice

I went to my local shop in the St. Louis area to purchase a new CZ75B a few weeks back. I had my heart set on it, and told the salesman so, but I still got the hard sell on the Sigma. "Smith and Wesson quality", he said. "Special discount, just for today," he said. Talk about red flags...

How much wear would this put on a GP100?

Someone previously posted that a major ammo manufacturer (can't remember which) uses a GP100 to test .357mag loads, and have put hundreds of thousands of rounds through it with no problems at all. That's what I'd call stout.

    Warming up to The Lock

I'll second that emotion. My online purchase success is 0%, and with the shipping charges and transfer fee, a seemingly good deal ends up being OK, maybe. When the gun arrives at the shop, invariable it's in less than expected condition. I'd rather drop a fin for gun show addmission and give...

Best .22 for target, plinking, practice?

I LOVE my MKIII 22/45 - it shoots straight as a string, goes bang every time, and costs $200. My only beef, of course, is re-assembly. I bet I've broken it down 25 times, and I still need the manual to put it back together :)

    New CZ-75 owner

Interestingly, I had the same accuracy issues with my new CZ-75B. During my first session with the new pistol, I too was shooting everything left and a little high. I was somewhat concerned after paying $200 plus my GP100 trade-in, but with all of the positive reviews I've seen on this forum I...

IMO, the nicest looking semi-auto out there. Very Italian - like a nice Italian loafer. Martin Riggs would be proud.

    Large collection confiscated

I believe he's a peace loving, tree-hugging old hippie who just snapped when he found his favorite sycamore lying on the ground. He was just striking back against the facists from the street department "establishment." :) How's that for a logical, well thought out theory? On the other hand...
