    M&P vs XD

I own the XD .45 service and an M&P .40 full size. The XD will only shoot factory ammo or hotter loads. Otherwise it has been a reliable gun. My M&P has run everything from hot to not including my competition reloads. It feels good in my hand. It is also a better weak hand gun than any of my...

What gun do your regret selling THE MOST?

I have sold only 2 guns in my lifetime. The first was a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag. That didn't sting too bad because my wife promptly replaced it with a Super Redhawk .44 mag with a scope. The second is the one I really regret. It was a classic Dan Wesson CTG .357 mag with the 4 in. barrel. It was...

    "Tactical" M&P

After shooting an IPSC match with my M&P .40 one night I had a guy ask me if I wanted to let him do a trigger job on it. My response was why. This thing came out of the box competition ready. I really like the short reset. If the 5 inch M&P has the same trigger it will be the perfect production...

A Smith and Wesson M&P Must Read...

Not typical. I have shot my M&P .40 in misty rain and hot weather when my hand was sweaty. I have also waited several days before cleaning it. No rust or misfires when the gun was dirty.

Do you use the slide stop lever or slingshot method to return the slide to battery?

I use overhand with my M&P, PT92 and 1911. Leaves my strong hand in position during competition and is easier for me to keep sights on target.

    S&W M&P Roundcount and Notes

It seems I made the right choice with my m&p .40. I have owned mine now for 6 months. I stopped counting how many rounds I have shot through it. Several thousand by now. I have been using it for steel matches as well as ipsc competition. I shoot mostly loaded down ammo and the gun has only...

    Taurus PT917 CS

Thanks for the info. Something I learned about the 20 rnd mag that comes with the 917 is that it will not work in my older pt92. Don't know why but it will not feed correctly and sometimes not at all. The 17 rounder that came with the gun works fine in the 92. Also I have not had any trouble...

    Taurus PT917 CS

I just bought the 917 about 3 months ago. I bought it because I have a pt92 that is 20 years old and with the exception of the trigger bar being replaced.(after thousands of rounds being fired) I have had little trouble with it. On top of being a great looking firearm it has operated perfectly...
