It feels weird recommending anything from Tasco, but Dan is right. For the money and for the need it sounds like you have, the Tasco Super Sniper is a great value for the scope. When your budget opens up someday, you can always upgrade to a higher quality scope.

Is there a chance they are being crimped too hard? If those Raniers are crimped just barely too hard, the plating will separate like an egg shell. A bullet leaving the barrel with the jacketing ripping off will surely tumble.
