    44 magnum load too hot???

You also might have some lead build up that is increasing pressure. If those cowboy rounds were cast it can cause problems going back to jacketed without a good cleaning. I missed a deer last year because of that issue. After shooting several hundred .44 specials I did a light cleaning and...

Dumb loading question for .45 ACP

Are you using a scale to make your measurements or just going by what the book says? The Lee manual list the .37 disk as dropping 4.4gr of titegroup but this is just a suggestion or starting point. I've always had to go up at least to sizes to get close to the load I wanted. Just a thought.

Lee Universal Case Expander and Rifle Charging Dies?

I've used the Lee Universal Rifle Charging Die and it works just like the pistol die. Whether you use it with the Autodisk or the funnel adapter I think you will be happy. I have no experience with the expander die so I can't help you there. If your having problems with shaving the bullet...

    Lee reloading manual

On page 205 of the Lee book it says "Use standard primers for all powders except Winchester 296 use magnum primers." Thats the only mention of what primers to use I could find in that book. It sounds like you have several other books to cross reference your loads with so you should be ok...

    Interesting 357 magnum chrono results

I think Arch Angel is getting his data from the Hodgdon web site. They show 16.7gr of H110 as max with a 158gr XTP. I've always had better results from 110 when it was near max or compressed, just seems to ignite better. That may be what your seeing. Was there unburned powder in the barrel...

how to plan out a hog hunt

I had read somewhere that FHL had banned lead ammo. I'm looking for the link now but it might be something to think about. Also some area's (the best ones) are for BP, Shotgun, or Archery only so be careful in deciding which area to hunt. Here is the FHL web site...

    Just bought my first Wildcat

The Lee has plenty of taper so I just used a lot of sizing wax and had no problems. I used 168gr A-Max and 49.0gr of Varget. One ragged hole at 100 yards. It also does a number on ground squirrels :) Just thought I would give an update in case anyone was wondering.

What is wrong with my reloads

I was just going to mention the Auto Disk. If your just going by what the manual says it could be wrong, it always is for me. I almost always need to use the cavity 2 or 3 sizes over what they recommend. Which isn't bad for plinking but when I'm reloading for accuracy or hunting it can be a...

    .410 Skeet Loads

H110 and Win 296 or the same powder so no need to try them both. Can't remember the name of the company that makes it for them but each company just slaps there own sticker on the bottle.

    Just bought my first Wildcat

I'll order the dies this week and give a report on how they work out. I'm also going to try the sizing wax since I hear so much about it. I've stuck a case when using the correct brass and die so lube will be important.

    Just bought my first Wildcat

Great info. I just hope the Lee dies have a nice taper to them, since the price difference between those and RCBS is significant. I guess I got the rifle on the cheap so can't complain about the dies now.

    Just bought my first Wildcat

Well I just bought a 30-284 and would appreciate any info you guys could give me. Do you start with 284 Win brass and fire form it, can you buy preformed? I'm lucky in that the last owner also sold the shop his brass and loading manual so I will have somewhere to start. Is this a good long...

    All around rifle...PEASE HELP

Ruger 10/22, Marlin 1894 in .44mag, and Remington 870 in 12 gauge. If you look around you should be able to get them for what you want to spend and a box of ammo for each. You could substitute the Marlin for an SKS since there still is some 7.62 surplus out there to be had. Good luck and i'm...

    Lead shot prices information

Theres nothing decent about the price of shot around here. At Sportsman's Warehouse in Sacramento there charging $49.99 for a 25lb bag. It's almost worth buying 50lbs from Midway since its free freight.

Need Help with Win 1892 Project

Another way around the timeout issue is before you hit "Post Quick Reply" to highlight everything you've written, right click it, then hit copy. If it times out all you need to do is log in then paste it in the message box. Hope that makes sense. Before you start working on that 1892 maybe...
