A 1911 is an awesome choice. Although, I have fallen in love with Springfields XD line. I have 3 of them so far. Two of them 9MM(3" and 4") and one a .40(3"). Of course now they also have it in .45 acp. .45 gap too if you want that.
I'm another right hand left eye dominant shooter due to having lazy eye as a child. RIght eye isn't much good for much. Although not ambidextrous, I can shoot pistols with either hand using the left eye. Makes my options for CCW two as much fun.
S&W Model 60 21/2 inch barrel. I sent it to S&W to get a trigger job and bob'ed hammer. The trigger is light, smooth and DA only. Sweet gun for self defense. No safeties. No single action accidents. Just point and shoot.
My wife and I have 3 XD's. One 4"(9mm) and Two 3"(9mm and 40) compacts. She can shoot them all very well. It's her favorite pistol. And she has shot just about every make of pistol out there. But, ultimatley she has to pick the pistol that fits her hands the best.
I too am waiting for a holster and magazine holster for my kimber compact from Gary. I think the setup is going to be sweet. Hopefully he will get those gun forms for sigs. :D I have several I need holsters for. :D
