    Most quiet 9mm suppressor?

You keep saying that like it's relevant to this thread on "the most quiet 9mm suppressor." That is a red herring. The KAC M4QD is the most successful 5.56 silencer ever sold to the US Government, but it's also really loud. It - like the Abraxas - got picked by the government because it was...

    Moderator or suppressor???

Tell that to the yahoos on my youtube videos who insist on giving me lessons about silencers even though I'm the one who owns them and they aren't. :)

    Most quiet 9mm suppressor?

Direct copy and paste from their website, right now: Their old Turbodyne ads that they used to run in magazines also advertised that there was no sonic crack. I have shot multiple AWC rifle silencers, the sonic crack is obvious. Although it was a little hard to hear over the loud report...

    Most quiet 9mm suppressor?

Wow, do you even have much experience with silencers? If by that you mean phase shifting, it is a load of BS. Gunshots produce broadband noise, not pure tones, so even if you could manage to phase cancel some of the frequencies, you would still have a lot left over. If you truly just mean...

    Glock 18C

I've heard rumors of that done with other post-86 items, never a G18. And no one has ever been able to actually prove any of these rumors. Besides, even if some connected person was able to get one into the NFRTR as transferrable, it wouldn't really be "transferrable" since ATF almost...

Does anyone make a decent coach gun for ~$700?

Well, I am going for the look too. A SBS coach gun just looks gorgeous with hammers and some good color case hardening.

    NFA mosin nagant

Rechambering and SBRing a mosin into a .300 whisper would be a major waste of time. I'd rather SBR a new CZ 527 if I was gonna do that. I do agree with the others though, that dropping twt tax stamps on a "trashed" rifle is a silly idea. You're basically stuck with it, you might as well...

    Glock 18C

There are no transferrable G18s. They were not even imported until after the Hughes Amendment took effect IIRC. The few transferrable auto glocks out there are converted G17s made before May 1986.

    Technical Question

If you have a lathe to hold the barrel, why wouldn't you just cut the threads on the lathe? I thought even the cheapest of lathes would have a leadscrew and halfnut capable of cutting standard threads.

    Most quiet 9mm suppressor?

Agreed. If I was buying a 9mm suppressor, these would be my choices (in this order): AAC Ti-Rant, SilencerCo Osprey, Gemtech Multimount, SWR Trident, AAC Evolution 9.

The dumbest thing the Brady Campaign has done to date...

Do I think the poll is bunk? Yes. But, to be blunt, the OP's letter makes him sound like a bumpkin. If you don't understand the principles of polling (ie, the mathematical validity of population samples and how they can or can't be generalized to the whole), you shouldn't be indicting...

Movie shotguns and the O/U sawed off

The biggest problem with these O/U "pistols" is they would be really difficult to open. Those of you who have O/Us, try cocking the thing while holding only the pistol grip, and the barrels just ahead of the action. Most people don't realize how much extra leverage you get with a longer barrel.

Does anyone make a decent coach gun for ~$700?

Is that a good deal? Rossi guns are usually pretty cheap, I would expect it to cost about the same as a Spartan/Stoeger.

Does anyone make a decent coach gun for ~$700?

I would rather go with the one with better finish. Mostly what I want to do is chop the barrels to have a nice SBS, so I would leave the rest of the finish alone. But I don't want to do that to a shotgun that will break after a few thousand rounds because then I'm stuck with an NFA weapon that...

Does anyone make a decent coach gun for ~$700?

I am thinking of buying a new SBS hammer gun for a little NFA project. I want something of higher quality than the standard Stoeger/Spartan stuff. I see that CZ USA offers a coach gun made by Huglu in Turkey, but ShotgunWorld is full of threads where people have had problems with CZ shotguns...

    What Next for Home Defense?

It's still a .410. It may have some weird number of pellets, or a slug and a pellet, or a little extra powder, or whatever, but the fact remains you can't really fit more than 3-4 pellets of buckshot in a high-brass .410, and you won't get them moving very fast from a 3" barrel. If it has more...

    What Next for Home Defense?

Oh my god, please never consult those individuals for gun advice ever again. Any round that will penetrate to human vital organs will penetrate drywall like it's a joke. Buckshot will penetrate walls just like a .45 (a 000 buck pellet at 1300fps from a .410 is roughly equivalent to a 9mm -...

Did You Ever Do Something Stupid, like......

Once drove to the range without ammo for one of the guns. Luckily I had others. Slide bite during dis/reassembly? Many times. Ruger MkIII is notorious for that. Try explaining to your buddies why the blood blister on your finger is the exact shape of a 1911 slide stop, or Ruger bolt...

    Case Tumbler

I have an older Frankford Arsenal model. Have tumbled thousands in it. No complaints. I have no basis for comparison to other brands, but I know it does a fine job of cleaning my brass.

    Press lubrication

I put a light coat of mid-weight grease on the ram, pivot points, and the bolt in the middle of the shell plate.
