Try shooting the firearm from a bench rest with the gun set into sandbags before passing judgement on its accuracy.
Later I did note you had said you used a a bench and rest position. My
apologies.
The 7.5” and the 5.5” both have the same Base Pin. The retaining lug on the 7’5”
Is further ahead on the barrel than the 5,5”, the loading levers are also different lengths.
When you drop the loading lever down on the 7.5” the extra space forward allows you to
withdraw the Base Pin completely...
A-HA! Mine is a blued model and does have a screw holding the barrel retaining lug in place. The lug and screw are not shown in the owner's manual
illustrated parts breakdown.
Thanks
How do you completely remove the base pin on a 5.5" Ruger Old Army? Its easy on a 7.5". Thinking about a base pin conversion but want to retain the original parts.
I recently bought a new Blue fixed sight 5.5" in the box Ruger Old Army. I called Ruger to ask when it was manufactured. They said October 2017. They said several were made between 2015 and 2017. Mine is a very nice model 01411. They said it was not a Talo.
