    Mossberg magazine

I have a Mossberg 500 12 ga pump , 1988 vintage riot gun, 18 1/2 inch barrel. Can anyone tell me if the next longer magazine can be put on this gun thus giving 2 more rounds for the gun. I've also heard there is an extension available but havn't been able to find any info on that.

    Magazines..loaded/unloaded

I'm not into automatics very much but just purchased a Glock 26 for the wife to carry. I hear pro and con about filling the spare magazines and leaving them that way for however long. I don't personally see any harm in it, the one in the gun is kept loaded all the time.

    Rifle recomendations

I am out of touch with new modern day rifles and since I feel that the time is such that I should move up to new and better firepower, self protection and defense, I would like some opinions as to what would fill my needs and requirements or expectations. I realize the Army carbine is outdated...
