I’m seeing this combo on the Hodgden loading site?
16gr gives 10,800 PSI, 1275fps, with AAHS hulls.
Wouldn't mind being little lighter of a load, actually, as we're working with a couple kids so recoil reduction is helpful. But I'd get nervous dropping down to 15gr or less if this already...
I'm reloading 28ga, with weighed 16gr longshot, 3/4oz shot, AAHS hulls, and BPSG28 wads.
I am getting a decent crimp (maybe a little shallow), but quite a lot of rattle from loose shot. I'm not getting much if any compression on the powder (no register on the MEC Jr. wad pressure gauge).
I...
Old Fuff me purchase my first 1911, learn the platform, swap out a bunch of parts just to learn how it ticked, and walked me through every step. A gentleman and a scholar, and one whose voice will be dearly missed.
generally agree with your post. The above, however, is just silly. I saw stoppages with a Tavor, for the same reasons you see stoppages with ARs. Bad ammo, poor maintenance, etc. Can be just as reliable as a quality AR.
Tavors are pretty chunky rifles, with the recoil impulse is straight into the shoulder. I found the recoil to be minimal, and overall liked the design.
Trigger was still classic bullpup... can't compare with an AR trigger. Better than some bullups though.
A rapidly accelerating butt stock slapping my face would be more bothersome than a front site post, in my book. But to each his own.
I’ve just found that many who think the 375 hit hard and don’t want to shoot it is because of a bad check weld, often from high scopes.
$300 for a barrelled action in 375 sounds great! With the savings, I'd invest more in the stock. The difference in recoil control in shooting my 375s is night/day, given the correct stock. The McMillan hunter's edge is the lightest I'd go (and I'd put in cross-braces)...
the bench rest guys I know shoot single shot, no mag. Much simpler to do this with a M700, rather than mag loading the round every time in a M70. This alone would send me that direction for benchrest rather than a 70.
in a mag gun, in the field, I’d want a 70.
My Safari was the same way, actually. Tried going with the wood stock, and in the end replaced everything but the action.
My EW was an entirely different animal.
