Well, I stopped by the bullet hole today. It's a nice little range. The extra noise indoors really gets to me, even with plugs under muffs. Even so, it'll probably wind up as my range of choice since it's relatively close.
It's too bad the ENGC is so expensive/far away/political. It looks...
LJ-MosinFreak-Buck, are you shooting on a friends land, or are there some public areas up there? A well appointed range is always a plus, but I'd be happy some open space and a good backdrop. Most of the stuff I've found is really far away (I'm spoiled from living 5 minutes away from a free...
Can anyone recommend some good ranges around here? I've lived here the past few years and am just know trying to get back into shooting. I know about the Bullet Hole, but I'd like to find something outside.
Thanks guys, I'll whip up the letter today. People who think like this drive me crazy, it doesn't even make sense. Accurate to 1500 meters? Yeah, I wish.
I found this while reading through my school's weekly newspaper, and am very angry about the blatant disregard for the truth. Obviously we are used to this kind of article and have seen them many times before, but in a small school I feel that I might be able to have some sort of impact on the...
Earlier this year I was able to purchase a Colt Gold Cup Trophy in memory of my deceased grandfather, and just recently a set of grips from Hakan were installed on the pistol. The checkered rubber wraparound grips that came with it were extremely uncomfortable, these Hakans really make the...
CZ75b in 40 SW. I had been planning on a 97, but they were rather spendy and would have required a special order. Outfitted it with some snazzy hakan grips.
What does one want this much penetration for in a handgun cartridge? Hunting? I would think that overpenetration would be a consideration in a defensive situation.
Leaky pepper spray would seem to be a bad thing :D
I have a Fox Labs unit with a flip top, the stream unit (4 oz). I have not sprayed anyone but did test it to make sure it did spray. Because I am not very intelligent i did this in my garage, and found that even cleaning it up can be a...
I have the randall that is sold as a diver's knife (basically their classic knife with a bigger tang and stainless). That is some waiting time, mine was a graduation present (tradition in my family) and my dad didn't get to ordering it till the summer before my senior year. Thankfully, my...
I vaguely recall seeing one a while back, and would agree with stasher1 on the looks. Not very appealing IIRC, but this may be a case of my memory playing tricks with me. I know it had grey furniture, which was odd. Solid little rifle though.
I believe that Hi-Point secretely pays tropical z to promote their firearms. If they don't, they should really consider it ;)
I second the motion for a 45 carbine, though.
Didn't Triton make some crazy 45 ammo that was quite a bit more powerful than even 45 super but still fit in a regular 45? I think it was 45smc or something like that. I remember because they sent me a box of it for free back when TFL was up. I can't seem to get onto Triton's site right now...
Do NOT use a slingshot if you don't want to kill them. Slingshots are quite powerful when used properly and could certainly kill a goose. I admit that the largest animals i have killed with my own slingshot are Rabbits and Carp, but keep in mind that a ball bearing traveling at round 300 fps...
I was just about to post something about wikipedia and firearms when i searched and found your post. I think it would be great if some other THR members took advantage of this resource and perhaps even added some of their vast firearms knowledge to it.
