Most prized? Hmmmm.....
My Colt 1991A1 Compact. First firearm as it was my dad's until he gave it to me on my 16th birthday.
My HK P7 would be a close second as I had been looking for one for about 8 years and finally cam across one for sale within my budget about 10 months ago. Hard...
Actually having owned at one time or another all four brands I give my opinions:
Taurus has more lemons than any other company I know. Granted my first snub was a 605 (stainless 2" .357) and the price was decent. Things didn't work out with the gun and it was sold a few months later as it...
I too own a convertible .45LC/.45ACP Blackhawk. Mine is the 5.5" Stainless variant that sported faux ivory grips (put those on my blued Blackhawk .44 and have the rosewood panels on the .45 now). Shot both .45 ACP and .45 LC out of it and it has been pretty dead on. Just got all the reloading...
I just picked up a 642-2 earlier this week and was wondering if I can join the club too. Took the little snub to the range on thurday and remembered why I love the little J-frame (had a 638 years ago but I sold it foolishly). It is now a permanent member of my collection and a will be a...
I use two holsters a friend/gunsmith/leatherworker crafted up for me. One is a IWB with a belt clip (though now that I use a thicker belt I am having him mak an identical one with belt loops), and the other is a SOB with a thumb break. I tend to use the IWB more often as Virginia weather is...
I carry a Charter Bulldog loaded with Hornady Critical Defense 165 grain rounds.
Have also been known to pack around my 4" 629-5 or 6.5" Blackhawk .44 magnums.
If it is a pistol I shoot/carry/IDPA with a lot, I have more mags (My G19 has 10 15 round mags). If it is a CC gun then I have a minimum of 4 with the exceptio of my LCP. Now in the case of my HK PSP, I have 11 mags as they are hard to come by and I have found pretty good deals on them so I buy...
Thanks all for the info. Will have to look around and it'll have to wait until I get back stateside from deployment but now I have an idea to start on.
I own a short-action Zastava Mauser in .308 with a left hand bolt. I was curious if any of the stock companies make a synthetic stock for my rifle. I don't know if anyone else has had the issue of finding one, especially for a southpaw. Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated as...
I have been using mostly Chip McCormick mags (8 and 10 rounders for my Gov't RIA) and Mec-Gar mags (6 rounders for my Colt Compact) for the past three years and have had no problems.
Currently on my 4th ship (GM1 MK45 Mod 2 tech and also working in the armory) and every M-16A3 that I have seen/handled looks just like an A2, no flat top. Either they are new production A3's made by FN or are constructed using an A2 upper with a refurbished A1 lower from NSWC Crane (seriously I...
I own a Rossi Ranch Hand in .44 Magnum and it is a fun gun to shoot. I agree with others on the thread that it may not be the most practical firearm, but it is what it is. Regardless it still gets a lot of attention at the range and a lot of head scratching from folks. Fun fun fun.
My Rossi Ranch Hand in .44 Magnum/Special. What is not to like when you shoot a lever action pistol and people look at you funny? That and it is a hoot to shoot.
Hoppe's is a good solvent to use. I tend to start off with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. Take a couple patches and soak them in the mix then place them in the barrel so there is one patch per inch of barrel. Let it sit for about 10 minutes then push a fresh patch through...
Blue Brick I have the exact same Service Six. Just got it the other day.
Back to the OP: I usually carry either a 3-inch barrel SP101 or a S&W 638 Airweight.
