In Iowa we have less rabbits, foxes and pheasants. We have more deer, coyotes, turkeys and Red Tailed hawks. I believe the two sets are related.............

    What high power rimfire?

These post about a .22 mag VS .17 HMR come up all the time. I have both and have shot the .22 mag for over 30 years. I have a CZ 452 in .17 HMR that I have hunted with for 3 years. Guys, there is no comparison between the two. The .17 will kill anything the .22 mag will, and at longer range. It...

What are the advantages/disadvantages of .17hmr vs .22lr?

I cannot believe all the B.S. you read about the .17 HMR round. First of all, you cannot even compare a .22 LR with a .17, maybe a .22 mag, but not a .22 LR. I have all three rounds, and they each have their place, but for varmit shooting out to 150 yards, the other two rounds just don't...

    17 hmr rifle choices

I have shot several different brands, but I think my CZ 452 in .17 HMR with a Nikon 3-9 Scope has the nicest action and it's a tack driver! I would highly recommend one.

    Remington 788

I traded for a 788 in .223 a couple of years ago. It has a custom monte carlo stock and a nice, crisp trigger. I have read many comments about 788s have poor triggers. I looked at my with a bright light and noticed the trigger is brown, not blue like the rest of the gun. Is it possible it's a...

    10/22 vs. .17 Hmr Rifle...

I have a CZ 452 in .17 HMR. I also have 3 .22's. To tell you the truth, you cannot even compare the two rounds. The 17 is more accurate, longer range, and hits much, much harder than a .22. I love both rounds, but I my mind they are not in the same leage.......

    Prarie Dog Help

Every hunt will be different, depending on the time of year, whether the sun is shining, how much the dogs have been shot at, etc. I use a CZ 452 .17 HMR for shots up to 150 yards. I have a Nikon ProStaff with a 3.9 scope on it. The advantages are cheaper to shoot, very accurate, and the report...

    best time for phesant hunting

Don't know where you are, but in the Midwest its the weather, snowfall, amount of cover, percent of the crops that are harvested, etc. Usually it's too warm with too much cover early. Best hunting is when the harvest is done, some snow on the ground. One tip about your dog, if not trained...
