    Anyone ever shoot a bullpup?

I've shot a pre-ban Steyr-AUG. Very light because of the polymer parts and sweet managaeable recoil. I'd get one.

    Handguns ONLY or others?

Interesting. But it seem that those who vote for handguns ONLY will eventually pick up rifles too, I bet. This pool actually helps me out on future purchases. I guess we should limit ourselves to handguns ONLY.

    glock vs ruger

Go for the Glock: Easier to field strip, lighter weight and overall fantastic gun. Also, Glocks use magazines, NOT clips.

    Unlucky Glocksters!

When will people learn... The reality of it all is that the Kb factor will try to discourage shooters from purchasing Glocks. BUT there's a large majority of Glock owners, like myself, that have come across gazillion "Kb" experiences...either heard from on the net or from a friend of a...

    Handguns ONLY or others?

I was wondering if THR members are exclusive handgun owners or do you have handguns AND rifles? Wondering what you folks perfer. Please vote. Thanks.

    Dissappointed with SIG

"If you take care of it, it will take care of you" is my motto on everything, especially with handguns. Also, not a lot of folks can easily drop $500-$1,000 on a handgun...that's why THR members inquire what experiences they have on guns that are good. Folks like me work hard for my money...

Do modern autoloaders *ever* fire when dropped?

Any "altered" job on a gun will have it's consequenses. But most newer guns have gone through a Drop Safety test to prevent any type of negligent discharge. I don't fear my Glocks since they have a drop safety.

    Dissappointed with SIG

That sucks. You spend good money on a handgun for protection. I'd be really ticked off! What guns are you looking into now? How much ammo did you use up on the 220 until you had to send it to Sig?

Person Playing Cop claims to have CCW in DE makes me feel better its NOT Shall issue

Basically, what I learned from that article is: To NEVER get involved until you, yourself, STRONGLY believe that you're going to suffer from bodily injury. And lastly, ALWAYS have your permit with you when carrying.

    Self defense shoot

According to CA gun laws for self defense. I'd also recommend that you take a self-defense handgun course in your local area for life application and training.

Whats the deal with the "C" model Glocks?

It allows even more controllable during rapid fire. and allowing an improved hit pattern because of excess gases exiting through the barrel and slide roof. Only minor problem is dirting up your front site. Also, some don't recommend for self defense, since you may have to fire with the...

    Question on Caliber

Yup, not much of a difference. They're usually $3-5 more than 9mm. And it depends if you want full metal jacket or hallowpoints...or the 50 pack or 100 round value pack. If you can afford the extra dollars than go with a .40S&W caliber, but if you're tight on the budget...then get 9mm.

    Loaning a pistol.

Good news. I'd recommend your friend buying a Glock model 19.
