Fred,
I can imagine that too. I ruled out the possibility of liability as in contaminated powder or primers. I've actually bought opened boxes of bullets from their Bargain Cave where a few were missing out of the box.
Recently I was at the Cabela's store in Kansas City and bought some Berry's bullets among other items. When I got back to the hotel I realized I had picked up the wrong weight of bullets. I went back to Cabela's to exchange them and was informed that they don't do exchanges or refunds on...
355 and Quaamik,
I can agree that an AR-15 can probably do close to 700-900 rpm accounting for trigger reset after each shot provided you rig it to a machine capable of pulling the trigger that fast, but let's be realistic. To throw out a number like that and say a semi auto is capable of...
Pat,
Are you trying to say that 'realistically' an AR-15 can shoot 11 to 15 rounds a second in semi-auto? Please go to www.colt.com and show me where Colt says there's a cyclic rate for AR-15s. They don't list it but they do for M-16s and true M-4s in full auto. (I think you're just weasel...
Its pretty much impossible and no a bolt can not be worked faster than a semi auto can cycle. Unless you can cycle the bolt at between 700 and 900 rounds per minute.
That may be true for Full Auto but not for semi auto as stated.
Now? Yes.
In 1994? No. No, it wasn't.
Exactly!! I get a real kick out of people who say the .40 is inacurate but don't own a .40 or used to own one years ago and then not for very long.
I qualify 100% every year with a G-27 so I don't buy the inacuracy drivel.
great round, and hicap. but what happens when you need to reload? i haven't heard of 7-shot speeloaders.
Actually, HKS makes a 7 shot speedloader for the 686 7 shot. (HKS Mod. no. 587-A) Just fyi.
All I can say is that if you're comfortable with a .45 auto, then by all means use it. Just don't try too hard to convince yourself that it's the "Ultimate Man stopper". 'Cause you could end up with a very bad surprise some day. ( Or night. )
Exactly. Like I tell guys, You make your...
After reading some of these posts one would conclude that the only reason to shoot a pistol is for self defense or law enforcement. Whatever happened to shooting for fun or recreation or even shooting games like IPSC and Steel Challenge?
If you don't mind a DOA trigger, you can always go for the Taurus 24/7. Rave reviews from people around here and everywhere else.
Mr TP, That caught me as funny as I'm sure its a misprint. DOA=Dead On Arrival. DAO=Double Action Only. :D
Try http://www.berrysmfg.com. They make a 185 gr. hollow base round nose plated bullet for .45 ACP. I use them in my Glock 30 and they are really accurate.
Hope this helps.
When you need a longgun you need a longgun round
Pat,
Who said anything about 'need'? What about the fun factor of shooting a pistol caliber carbine? Remember, not everyone is an LEO and not everyone buys a rifle to kill someone or something.
