You would have all your bases covered if you purchased a .338 Win Mag; 338 would be your caliber for trophy elk, moose and any bear you would ever want to hunt. The 243 is a great varmint/small game round. The 30-06 will cover all deer and cow to smaller bull elk.

Definitely my Tikka T3 Lite Hunter in 270 Winchester. I have the same scope mounted on my Remington ADL in 243 Win. Great scope!

Just make sure the plastic recoil buffer isn't cracked. That is the only problem I have had with a used one I bought for $ 30.00

A clarification on my earlier post. I own a stock Marlin 60; a stock 10/22 and a 10/22 Target model. The The Marlin shoots better and jams less than the standard 10/22. The 10/22 Target shoots better than the marlin but jams occasionally. Oh I forgot to add that the Target 10/22 was about...

I own both so this is a tough call. I would go with the Marlin 60 because it is out of the box a more accurate rifle in my experiences with both the 10/22 & the '60.

Normally my rule of thumb for hunting big game in Idaho; 270 Win with 150 grain Nosler Partition for buck mule deer & cow elk, 300 Win mag with 200gr Nosler Partitions for bull elk, and in areas with trophy size bull elk I would use my 338 Win mag with 250gr Nosler Partitions.
