Total round count death match - M1 Garand and AK

I've never fired either one but let me say this, the AK was made after the M1 Garand which means AK probably had a chance to look at the M1 Garand's blueprints before he designed the AK.

    I love women...lol

Ever notice that alot of women when picking out guns, one of there top requirements is that the gun "be cute" or "I like that one b/c it's black" or "I like this one, look at the cute little bullets". I just love women, there mindsets truly are different than guys.

What Caliber For A Wolf Pack?

Can you say "Remington 870", 12 gauage, no choke, 2 3/4, and i'd go with 7/8oz charge, and the highest number buckshot you can find. I'd go with the 7/8oz charge because less recoil = faster target aqcusition, that is also my reasoning for the autoloader.

What is medicine of choice for .45acp loads?

Ok, lets hear it. This is for personal defense. The big choices are 165, 185, 200 and 230. I prefer the 230gr JHP.

    .357 ???

Hell what's the difference, look at the big picture, your shooting .357mag for what I assume is personal defense, what I would be more concerned about is the bullet design.

What are your favorite deer bullets?

If you could only have 1 deer caliber, weight, and bullet design. I'm gonna start things off with my pick. 30-06, 180gr Remington Express Core-Lokt, IMHO they truly are "the deadliest mushroom in the world".

    150 165 or 180gr in a 30/06

I prefer 180gr Core-Lokt myself, but again the key word is "prefer", it's just my personal fetish on 30-06 bullet weights. And as for the Core-Lokt, well it's cheap, accruate enough and when they connect they are deadly, my hunting friends and I call Core-Lokts "deer bombs" b/c once they met the...

    Considering carbine options

What's wrong with a shotgun, why do you assume you need a carbine? Get a Mossberg Persuader or something pistol gripped and load the shells in and keep the chamber empty, trust me, you won't need more than 8 shells if you use 12 gauge #4 buckshot, 1 shot 1 kill

Just gained alot of respect for my Norinco SKS

Yeah, I didn't think the 7.62 soviet could drop a deer at 250-300 yards, whatever the actual distance was, but yeah the load ate em up pretty good. The FMJ performed excellent on him, no exit wound, just gained alot of respect for the 7.62 Soviet as well. Not saying if I had a Remington 700 in...

Just gained alot of respect for my Norinco SKS

And people say you need an AR to hit targets at 250+ yards, pffff...Shot a buck 90 minutes ago with my Norinco SKS at 250-300 yards away using the open sights. Simply just set the rear sight at the "3" click for 300 meters and aimed in the middle of his torso, he gave me a broadside...

What in your opinion is the greatest factor in stopping power?

IMO, the biggest factor besides the obvious of shot placement, is bullet weight, this is why you hear reports of troops complaining about the 5.56 lack of stopping power, because they are using 55-77 grain bullets that are going really fast, so they basically whiz right through. AK47 fires...
