Colt Federal Patrol Rifle - LE6920-FBP2

The PA prisms have an adjustable ocular the Acog doesn't. The glass is plenty good. Reports are good on reliability so far as well. I'd say they're more than 80 percent an Acog. Got plenty of those, but my last 2 optics purchases for ARs have been PA prisms. Considering a third for an 11.5...

What is the nicest gun you were ever given as a gift?

My wife gave me a no lock Smith and Wesson 642 for my birthday once. My middle daughter got me a Henry Homesteader 9mm this past Christmas which I love. Other than that, I inherited 4 Ruger Blackhawks, a JM marked 45/70 Marlin and a Stoeger side by side 12 Guage from my pop when he passed in 2014.

What's the oldest (by date of manufacture) ammo you've fired or own?

I own several 20 round cardboard packages of 45acp ball ammo made by, IIRC, Frankford Arsenal in about 1918 for 1911 pistols. A good friend gave them to me about 20 years ago.

Trying to decide what to get for a suppressed rifle/carbine

Pork Sword 300blk bolt pistol. No need for sbr.

Will this make the 300 Blackout obsolete?

LOL. I am getting a 300blk due to its versatility and it looks damn fun!

    GA Precision rifles

Thanks E, I have read that before but will pay more attention to it now. didnt make it to the range this AM, but hopefully tomorrow. I need to load some more ammo anyway. Apparently, I started too hot with the 44.3 grains of Varget in 1x Lapua cases behind 175 SMK's. Not at all hot in my savage...

    GA Precision rifles

Thanks guys. I will work harder to develop that "perfect" load for this rifle than any other I have had.

    GA Precision rifles

Really? I loaded about 35 rounds. Half with 44.3 grains of varget and half with 44.7. I used 1X Lapua cases, 175 SMK's to a COAL of 2.800. I will load some lighter and use these later, assuming the load takes me in that direction. The loads I used were significantly lighter than loads I have...

    GA Precision rifles

Thank you Zak. I think I will start with the 175's using once fired (FL Sized) Lapua brass and 44.0 grains of Varget. Probably too light, but I have never loaded for anything that has been trued, blueprinted etc.. and using an Obermeyer barrel that I have heard is "tight". Not exactly sure what...

    GA Precision rifles

I have the rifle in my hands now. Just got the MKIV (60000) mounted. The rifle is mounted on an aluminum Seekins base and rings. Trying to determine a good starting point for loads for the 22" Obermeyer barrel. It is a 11.25 twist. Boots suggested using 175 SMK's. I have Lapua brass and either...

Trying to decide on a Pre-Election Rifle

Buy some AR10 lowers. You can buy 5-6 of them for the price of one complete Ar.

CDNN: Best deal in the house.

I got one of the 20" BA's for $399 and put it in the $99 Hogue. The stock is pretty flexy but works well enough to shoot consistent 3/4MOA to 100 with handloads. I have a Manners T4A on order that should be here in 8-10 weeks. With all the CDNN BA's going on, Mr Manners is doing a run. So if you...

    GA Precision rifles

I am in the process of getting my first custom rifle and I am curious to hear from owners of GAP rifles and other custom tactical rigs. What makes one better than another? What makes them so good that we are willing to spend 3 grand and more for them? I want one either way, and I hope it shoots...

How the heck to you take a good pic of a rifle

I am trying to learn the same art. I recently bought wife (he-he, for mothers day) a Canon S5-IS. IIRC it is 8MP. I know it is capable, but I havent seen much improvement in my photos. I am going to do some reading and try to get better. I dont think I would be hijacking if I ask for website...

    Dillon experts?

A bit off topic, but as I am trying to research the art of reloading, the more I read about Dillon, the more convinced I am that they are without a doubt the way to go.

    M&p 340

Guys, I have a LNIB M&P340CT that I bought this past Christmas. Less than 20 rounds through it, AS NEW. I have a new project that is requiring a lot of funds and the M&P is basically duplication considering I have other J frames. If anyone is interested please let me know. [email protected]...

    M&p 340

Marv, I see you already purchased and got it for a good price. On the Mika holster, I believe you will you already have a "good" holster once you get it. As long as you wear slacks or loose fitting shorts they are excellent. Not so much with jeans, though. IMO. Enjoy

    M&p 340

There I think I figured out how to quote somebody on this forum, that was tricky. Marv, you may want to check Budsgunshop.com. I bought an M&P340CT from them at Christmas. I believe the price was either $821 or $871 (shipped price), cant recall. But they have good prices. They also offer 1 year...
