S&B brass slows me down. Most of the time, I have to play around with the brass a little in the shell plate so that it aligns well for primer seating. I still load them. I find it hard to turn down a piece of brass . . . that is, unless it says A-Merc. Those are reserved for dummy rounds.
Frohickey. I have a pro2000 also and have contemplated using a lock out die. (also wanting to have a seperate crimp station)
so far, I've just been eye-balling my powder charges, but if you really want to have a lock out and seperate crimp station, you can load as usual with 4th station being...
Freedom - Yeah, I'm pretty sure everything is locked down tight, but I will double check
Soda - yeah, I didn't find it at the gunshows either. I was just about to order 4lbs via mail when I was referred to this place that had it for $24. A little more pricey and a 20 min drive, but it sure...
It's an RCBS pro2000. There's a little bit of play in the shell holder, so I pretty much figure that's the culprit. Anybody else with a pro2000 have this problem??
I just got back from the range a little while ago. I'm still here typing with all my fingers so everything went okay. The rounds shot pretty light compared to my factory loads, but I guess that's expected.
Time to bump the grains up a little.
TIR - I'm only belling about 1/32 of an inch...
Hi all. I'm just about to try out my first batch of reloads. Kinda nervous, you know. First of all here's my data:
230cmj .45acp montana gold bullets
WLP
S&B brass
vhit powder N340 - 5.5 grains (minimum in speer's 13th edition)
oal: 1.26 (as per speer 13th)
Lee carbide factory crimp (3/4...
Wide body polymer high cap frames (such as svi/sti and para) loaded down to 10 rounds, or the traditional frame with a 10 rnd single stack??
Which config do you see more??
Pros and Cons??
Thanks all.
Looking through the list of approved handguns on the california doj list, it seems that my options are slim.
Do I have to purchase a handgun that's on that list, go through all the DROS paperwork, then have it customized? I was looking through the dawson precision sight and their set-ups...
I'm in the process about educating myself on shooting USPSA. I've been looking at 1911's more geared toward competition and have a couple questions about sights.
I've been shooting for a couple years now. Strictly paper and plates at the range. I've been shooting stock glocks, 1911 geared...
Right now, probably my Wilson KZ-45. 10 rounds of .45 acp. 1911 platform. Fits like a glove. Sweet trigger. Wilson quality. Not one hiccup since I purchased it.
yeah, I still own it. It's a sig pro 2340. I love the thing, but I'm looking to sell it. I decided I want to stick to just a couple platforms. 1911 and glock. Well, throw in BHP as well. :p
Yeah, I'm feeling it too and I'm not even married. Although sometimes, the way my girlfriend is, I feel like I am. :p
Let's see, I can't give up the job. I need to fund my hobbie. Looks like the girlfriend has to go!!
@#$%ing PRK. Anyways, it was for a Browning Hard Chrome Hi-Power.
Time to retire the BFSC card. I think I'll frame it. :p
I picked up a copy of the Handbook for the new Handgun Safety Certificate just for the heck of it. I'll probably end up getting the new certificate. There's a couple...
IIRC, it doesn't matter how many times I dryfire my 1911 and glocks, so it wouldn't make a difference whether or not I have a primer substitute there, right??
I'm wanting to use these "dummy rounds" less for dry fire practice, more for magazine reloading practice. I would be closing the slide...
