    Para Carry 9 Thoughts

The issue I'm having is with the finish on the frame. It appears to be black paint, and not very high quality paint either (Krylon?). I love the trigger and accuracy. Last night I used my fingernail to scrape the paint off of the frame rails in hope that might help with some of the malfunctions...

    Para Carry 9 Thoughts

I have just over 300 rounds through my new carry 9. I bought it, bought two bulk packs of UMC 9mm and went to the range. I've not had a single failure. However, the three friends that were with my all had sever different types f jams ranging from stovepipe to double feed. Also, the finish on the...

Grip solution for Para Carry 9

Well, I got my carry 9 today. It looks to me like custom grips are just a couple of saw strokes and new holes away. Full size grips are just long enough that they can be cut just above the lower screw hole as long as you don't go for double diamond checkering. :) Time for grip hunting...

Ruger LCP - I picked it up

The fit and finish were much better than the Kel-tecs, but the trigger was a bit heavier. Smooth though. I'm still looking for a pocket gun...

Poor wood on new Marlin Lever guns

Is Marlin using plastic on the 39A? I saw one yesterday that I could swear wasn't really wood. The checkering looked molded, but didn't have the look of pressed wood.

Thinking about picking up a Tokarev TT-33

I had a Chinese in 9mm. I had to stand within slapping range of the target to get it to hit paper. I sold it for what I had in it, s no loss. :)

    Replacement grips for Para sub-compacts

I'm surprised that Para doesn't even list their own grips as options. I guess I'll just practice making my own.

Ruger LCP - I picked it up

Saw one today for $245 in NW Arkansas when I put my Carry 9 on layaway. I can't shoot a gun if I can't get my ring finger on the grip. :)

    Replacement grips for Para sub-compacts

Anyone know where to get nicer grips for the Para C6, carry 9, PDA, etc.? I've been looking everywhere. Thanks!

    .22 needed

If you can find one, a SIG Trailside target gun (rebranded Hammerli) is very nice. These days you can get one for under $450.00 and I like the ergonomics and trigger much better than the Ruger.

    Para Carry 9

Does anyone have first hand experience with this pistol? I'm thinking of getting one for carry, and I'd like some pros and cons before I drop $800.00. Thanks!

I would love to have an M1 carbine or similar clone..at reasonable price....

A friend and I got carbines in 2006 (his Rock-ola, mie IBM) for $1300 for the pair and we were pleased as punch for that price. Mine is all original in stunning shape, his was too. Even Universals are pretty pricey and I don't think the Kahr repro is too cheap either.

    Favorite .22 LR rifle?

My Polish WZ48 training rifle. It's amazing how much fun I can have with a tack driving single shot rifle. Using shorts, it's nearly silent. So much fun. In fact, my wife pestered me until I gave it to her, so I really need another one. :)

    FAL Advice

At my local gun store, they have a CAI Imbel FAL going for about $650. I've wanted a FAL for a while, but I've not researched them fully. What should I watch out for when inspecting the rifle? Thanks.

    .45 Weak?

S&WFan, I thought the reason most people used a .45 is that the shooting games favor using a .45 to be competitive by adding the "power factor" into your score. I don't know the rules to all of the games, but that seems to be a pattern.

    .45 Weak?

Nolo, you are using the wrong formula for energy. E=MC^2 is Einstein's formula for converting between mass and energy (Energy=Mass*Speed of light^2) You're looking for the kinetic energy formula KE=1/2MV^2 The result is different but still rises more rapidly with velocity than with mass.
