I have my eye on one too... but can't justify the price. But one thing, how can you say, I have a new 1894 and no pictures!?! Shame on you. ;)
Congrats
Sorry if this has been posted and discussed... I didn't see it.

Wow, this is what might be happening here.
I bought the 500a Slugster too. I went to my local pawn shop and swapped the barrel for regular 24". It was slightly used (as far as I could tell) and he swapped it for free. It think he got the better barrel, but I got a barrel I could use. (I did forget to ask about the choke tool...
Got my new 18.5 barrel from Mossberg Saturday. Gettin' goodies in the mail is always fun. Popped it on, now I have a great HD shotgun.
But wait what is that on the top (ten o'clock position). :cuss: It looks like a paint blemish... man! I have to send it back. I hate that...
What did you do to fix the safety (drill it like what was mentioned)? I've a brand new 500 and I'm wondering if I'll see the same thing. The safety seems pretty stiff at the present.
How do you finsh the cut metal? I would assume it would rust quickly.
Of course gun oil, but after a few shots it would be gone I assume.
I know... another newb question.
Had the same thought (didn't post the question though). I figure a light coating of gun oil should work, but I have only a few... ah, pumps on this gun.
cableguy657, I asked the very same question last week. Bought a Mosberg slugster. I have 18.5 on the way. Yeah and I'll be trading this barrel if I can. There is gun show next month I'll be trying my luck.
Markk, first I've seen that http://www.theboxotruth.com/ site, boy do they look like they have fun!
And I should say that http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot3.htm shows the affects of a SG against drywall... in their "Box O' Truth"
Mine was a simple 1/4" x 9" (your length might vary) wooden dowel. 50 cents from Home Depot and couple of O-Rings just to keep it from rattling is all you need.
