Any one deal with Hornady customer service?

Over the years, I have dealt with Hornady's customer service more than a few times. They have been great! RCBS and Dillion are top notch as well. Lyman customer service sucks..IMO. Hope this helps.

Ruger .454 Alaskan for home defense?

why not? Pick a good hollow point load in 45 colt and shoot it a close range so you know how it shoots. Don't over think the situation.....it's a reliable gun with a proven round. Save the 454 stuff for the field, or forget about it and load hot 45 colt loads with hard cast heavy bullets for the...

Stopping Power of .45 Compared to 9mm

As a ICU/ER RN, I've seen quite a few gun shot traumas first hand. I have also seen the days that follow, if initial shooting survived, and the care that goes into the wound and body damage as a whole. When I read these questions, I think of my old friend who is a retired federal agent...he once...

Critique My Home Defense Setup: Bedroom

Not bad. Do you have children? Might want to think about the security aspect of this setup with young ones. Do you have a dog? My wife and I have a couple of small dogs (Mini Pinchers).....there is no way that someone could even turn the front door knob without them going nuts and alarming the...

    handguns to alaska

Looking for input and sound advice: My wife and I will be traveling via automobile to Alaska and would like to have/bring a couple of handguns with us. We will be up there for 6-9 months and would really like to have a handgun or two with us. Any advice on the best way to do this? Can you...

    If limited to two handguns....

MkII Ruger 5.5 inch HvyBarrel 22lr, and Ruger Redhawk 5.5 inch in 44 mag. IF I could add a third, it would be a high quality 1911 full size 45 of some sort. Peace and happiness to all....

    Handloading CCW Ammo

JMO-Don't believe handloaded ammo is a good idea. With actual shooting distances being under 15ft a vast majority of the time, I find it hard to believe ( and have yet to hear/read) a tactical or measurable advantage in handloaded ammo for CCW. Having said that, with today's political and...

    Handloading CCW Ammo

JMO-There are no real advantages to using reloaded ammo for self defense. I believe that we are over thinking this to an extent....again, JMO-there are only disadvantages to carrying reloaded ammo. I have yet to hear of any real advantage to the reloaded ammo. I believe, if we spent more time...

    Reloading Starter Kit

Rockchucker Supreme kit or Lyman Crusher kit. For shotgun, start with the Lee loadall shotgun loader.

Need help; I want to get my 1st & ONLY defensive shotgun...

Gideon- Your original question also stated that this would be strictly for in house use. Something to consider.....Simple is best. If you can't defend yourself in a house with a plain jane shotgun ( ie....18'barrel and bead sight), then maybe we have bigger issues to get around! If you are...

    Forster

Rings/Help! Guys- I am the proud owner of a Co-AX and I must be doing something very wrong. The only rings that I have found to work are Forester and the old RCBS rings. Not all the old RCBS rings work, I have found that some are too thick to fit in the die ring space. I have tried the...

    Reloading with the kids

Child Abuse! You guys have to be kidding! You are abusing your children! Having them around such evil ( guns, ammo, powder, primers)!!! How dare you spend so much time with your kids! Don't you know that your supposed to put them on the couch with lots of cola, TV, twinkies, and computer...

    How to run a Dillon?

Moosehunt- I have a 550 and love it. Dillion is the best! On your 450 (congrats on getting it!), I would suggest calling Dillion in the morning. They will get a instruction manual out to you free of charge and asap. Also, they have an excellant series of videos on each of their machines and they...

    Need advice on powder measure

Hanno- I would consider the Redding over the RCBS. The Little Dandy is a "dandy", but it limits you to whatever throw/charge the specific rotor you buy does-ie.....with multiple loads (45acp-38spcl-44spl-44mag) you can get high expense fairly quickly. Keep in mind, you may have to have two or...

    Forster

I have a Co-Ax and I love it. In fact, I'm getting ready to buy another. I load rounds up to and including the 375HH and I don't have a problem with space. It has a lot more leverage than my old Rockchucker, and full length resizing my buddies 416 Rigby was not an issue. Much more mechanical...
