    I am not a fan of 1911s.

I thought LDA stood for light double action, but maybe I'm wrong.... Also, while supposedly older GI models have trouble feeding hollow points I think this is a common misconception when dealing with modern 1911s. At least my 1911s feed anything I feed them from wolf to gold dot.

    I am not a fan of 1911s.

That thread reminds me: So you advocate carrying a gun with NO manual safety over a gun with 2 manual safties because ONE of those safeties could theoretically come off? (which would still leave the grip safety) BTW the the only weapons I've had manual safties accidentally swith to fire...

Ummmm, maybe you should reread the original post, he is the one that is saying we are wrong. Some of his assertions are wrong too by the way, if he doesn't like 1911s, then fine- but that does not make it a bad weapon, nor does it make it okay for him to insult others choice of firearm. Guess...

I guess I missed the part where somebody said everybody has to have a 1911.

    I am not a fan of 1911s.

I agree, many 1911s are overpriced. I disagree though that 1911 owners dont like other guns. I have a p99 walther that I love. Sigs and glocks are excellent weapons too, but for ME I like 1911s... $630 is an average price around here for the blued no frills UCII

    1. SA only. It means you have to have a manual safety lever which is one more thing to think about under stress. It also gets knocked off when carried concealed. No second strike capabilty like a true DA has. If you get a dud, pulling the trigger a second time does not help. The only problems I...

    Debating morons, need help

I am an 0331 (machinegunner) Yes, that is an old Marine urban rumor (there's alot) again, the paper target explanation is the best, as I have qualified on the M2 on paper targets and there was nothing so spectacular. BTW that is not a soldier in the picture, it's a Marine. Sorry to be anal...

Finger On Trigger In New Army Uniform Photo ?

well, theres also little tiny eagle globe and anchors dispursed in the marine cammies, so the Army couldn't wear the exact same ones....

    7.62x54R on deer?

You are absolutely right to be burned up about that, it's irresponsible and stupid. Just try to remember to blame the person not the gun! If I had an experience like that, I too would be slightly biased I suppose.:)

What gets me is the logic you use, is the same as the anti's. Appearance is what the inane AWB is based on remember.

    7.62x54R on deer?

Mosin Nagants don't have high capacity mags, they have an integral 5rnd mag. Even if they did, so what? as long as the shooter makes humane kills, why does the capacity matter?

More questions about joining the Marines

Everything USMC_2674 said is correct. Like I said I had about $900 when I left. I have a friend whose little bro wanted to join, the soonest slot thay had for him was 9mo away! I went in the back room of the office at thier schedule, and sure enough, the calandar was solid names for 9mo...

More questions about joining the Marines

That is absolutely correct, but somehow most of the 41s I knew were dumber than piss in a bucket. Don't forget, high test scores do not mean that person has a lick of common sense:). The only ones from my weapons platoon who fell out were 41s. Who knows why. Possibly the bigger problem with...

More questions about joining the Marines

:p HAHA!!!!!!!!! Amen to that. If a marine dropped out of a hump or run it was almost always a 41, or an 11. :neener: I know of about two 0341s that are good to go. Unfortunately you won't have a choice of where in the 03 field you go, so just do you best wherever you go. BTW, you do get...

More questions about joining the Marines

By time I got out of boot, I had a whopping $900 saved up. You may get $1300 a month while in boot,(yes it starts the first day) but your uniforms ain't free. Also just to clarify, a rifleman is an 0311, which is part of the infantry any MOS that starts in an 03 is infantry. Remember than the...

    7.62x54R on deer?

That is a plus. I'm not saying there is no down side, and no I would not try to wound, but the fact remains that wounded men cause a strain on supplies and manpower.

    7.62x54R on deer?

Infantrymen are not taught to try to wound. Aim center mass always. However, there is a plus side to just wounding, as it takes out many more men than a dead soldier (exceptions of course would be sappers or other suicide crazies). It is a simple fact that wounded soldiers cause a larger strain...
