    "how far can you see?at 300 yards a person looks like a small dot." That's why my M-4 has an ACOG on it! Most of our effective shooting is done with Machine guns, sniper rifles & mortars over here.

    Ruger 10/22 as a home-defense weapon?

    Beats nothing, but you can get a good, used ex-cop shotgun purty cheap, they tend to have "low milage". I got an ex-police Mossberg 500 for under $200.00. That & Remington Low Recoil #4 Buck is my goblin repellent at the house.

    M-4 or AK 47 for Home Defense

    "Oh, and the AK guys saying the AR isn't reliable is getting old too." My M-4 has gone "bang" every time I shot it in Afghanistan. Used Mil-Tech & brough my own mags with Magpul springs & grey followers. Look forward to taking a class or 2 with your outfit when I get back, Booner :D
