I have a standard Ruger. I've had a Remington 597. Haven't had the other 2, but I'd say the Ruger would be a good choice.

Every 308 I've loaded for has shot well with 44 grns of Varget. I will probably go with 168 grn Sierra match bullets, 44 grns of Varget, and Federal match brass. That setup is about as close as I can get to Federal Gold Match. I'm hoping to have my rifle next week. Can't wait, getting excited! :D

I was under the impression that there were two "base" models: One being the GI model, the other being the Milspec, with champion, or 4 1/4" length pistols in both model lines. Maybe I need to do some more research.
