I'd hate to see the guy who can take a load of 410 and keep coming. One thing to consider if using birdshot is heavy coats can stop it. Know of a guy that came home to a angery wife. She shot him in the shoulder with a 20ga from across the room with birdshot. His coat did a good job stopping...
Did somebody say they wanted to upgrade to Walnut? You should check the price of teak. You could toss the rifle in a river and after the rest of the gun rusted away the teak stock would be good to go.
My 12 year old son has no trouble shooting 158gr XTP-FP with a max load of Lil'gun. Load also works great on deer out to 100". If you get the 1894C don't let anybody tell you it's not a good brushgun for deer. With a good bullet and load it gets the job done easily. If you shoot 38's besure...
Steve W13 Win and Puma didn't get me hooked on a fun site and then dump it. In other words they didn't P@#% me off. I tend to be a loyal customer they did nothing to try to correct any problems and wouldn't even give a honest reason to kill the site. They also removed the e-mail contact so...
I been hearing rumors Marlin was going to drop teir web page and they did it . I'm p#%$ed I spent a lot of great hours surfing their forum and learned a lot. The Marlin forum got me interested in leverguns and I purchased an 1894C. I had plans for more Marlins in the future but I feel like...
It could be a stolen gun. Worse it could be a stolen gun used in a crime. Your local PD could run the serial # to see if it's reported stolen. If a LEO stops you and runs the serial # and it comes back stolen you are in big trouble.
I got a Marlin 1894c to go with my GP100. It's a lot of fun to shoot and proved deadly on deer with a 158gr. XTP. The only problem with a 357 rifle & revolver combo is loading enough ammo.
BSA makes a nice air rifle for under $200. The generel rule is .117 for feathers and .22 for fur. However my .177 does just fine on squirrel. The advertised fps. is only a guildline to power as many companies user very light weight pellets to get those velocities. If the gun is going to be...
I just bought a Mossberg SSI in 308 and picked up a 223 barrel. Is there a powder that I can use for both. I will be loading 150 - 165gr. for the 308 and 55gr. for the 223. Thanks
Might check out Mossberg SSI I have one in 308 with an extra barrel in 223. Nicer then the NEF but you have to shop around for a good deal. My local Dick's has them between $269-$300 depending if their on sale. It's a heavy gun though. I found the 223 barrel on line for $150 and you don't...
Flip a coin 7mm-270-7 08- 308- 30 06- 280 all = dead deer. You can drive yourself crazy but there isn't a nickles difference in any of them. The 270 is a great round but if you reload the 7mm has an edge. I just bought a new deer rifle so I know how you feel. One day I wanted a 260 the next...
If you look around you can find the GP100 in 5". If your unsure of which to buy try shooting both. Most guys at a range will let you put a few rounds through their gun. Both the GP and Glock will give years of service. Both guns are reliable it gets down to what you like. Unless you reload...
Bought a new Mossberg SSI today got it home and opened the box real happy with the fit and finish. Then I look through the box and no owners manual. So I get on the Mossberg web sight no manual. Did not feel like driving 90 miles round trip to Galyans concidering this already was my second...
I would go with the Rossi it's very light 3.5 pounds and my son's trigger isn't bad. My son is getting good at busting clays with the 410 when he moves up to a 20ga he will be deadly. Last week he popped his first tree rat. When he out grows it I'm getting a full size stock ($50) and it's...
After spending weeks researching different calibers 270, 7-08, 308, 30-06, 300 Sav., 280 ect.. I finally figured there isn't a whole lot of difference in any of them so I should look for a good deal and not sweat the caliber. Last week I was at the range and the guy next to me is shooting a...
I'm planning on getting one in 6.5x55 Swed.. I have not been able to find out any info on the single shot but have heard the double rifles are very accurate. I waited for a long time to see if H&R would come out with a 260 Rem. but that's not going to happen. You can get exra barrels with H&R...
Went to the range today to get my Marlin sighted in for deer season. I had shot at 50 and 100 yard then went to 25 to see where she would hit. I put 3 rounds into the target and they hit dead on where my ballistic software said it should. The only other person on the line was sighting in a...
