    Ruger SR9 range report

The new trigger completely transformed my SR9. It has near zero creep, a VERY crisp release with no over-travel, and scarcely little flip for fast follow-up shots. I also have a Glock 23 that I bought in 1993 and have fired many 1000's of times, but my post-recall SR9 has now replaced it as my...

    SR9 Lock-Up- Help

I had to RAM the round out with a plastic dowel and a hammer (after penetrating oil), before dis-assembly. Here is what I found- hard ceramic (?) debris, apparently from the inside of the previous round, was wedged between the case and the chamber causing a nice crease in the brass and a strong...

    Kahr PM45 Problem

I bought my Kahr P40 as soon as they came out, and I still carry it.

    Kahr PM45 Problem

Erm, Kahr specifically warns against manually dropping a round into the chamber. This action will damage the extractor and you could end up sending the gun to the factory (ask me how I know this...). :uhoh:

    SR9 Lock-Up- Help

EDIT: UPDATE!! Fixed it! I just pressed the rear of the extractor and levered it off the casing, allowing the slide to go back. The bullet is really jammed in there. No more old ammo from ex-Soviet bloc countries for me! :)

    SR9 Lock-Up- Help

I let a friend fire my SR9- I was observing- and this happened. He apparently pulled the trigger after the slide failed to go into battery, releasing the striker but it must have been blocked (thankfully). Probably, this is one of several 15+ year old factory rounds we loaded into the magazines...

    P95 or SR-9?

I've had a few P-series Rugers, but my (updated) SR9 is better in almost every way. The new trigger is GREAT! I like it even better than my glocks.

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

Just got back from the range and, WOW, what a difference! The SR9 now shoots as well as my Glocks. In fact, the trigger is crisper, if anything (after the mag safety removal- ahem...). I fired 150 rounds of 115 gr through it, and a mix of defense rounds, including some GA ARMS 124gr +P+ Gold...

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

Strangely, I have removed the block again, had the same problem of the slide not moving past the end of the frame, and then- it suddenly slid past that point normally. Don't know what happened- maybe the ejector jiggled out of place? :banghead::banghead: Sorry for the paniced post. :o I find...

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

I tend to use my trigger finger on the opposite side to release the mag, which works smoothly...

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

Mag Safety Now Not Removable!!! Just got mine back, and my first action was to remove the mag safety block. However, this mod now PREVENTS RE-ASSEMBLY OF THE PISTOL!!! I replaced the mag safety block, and all is well. Aaarrg! :fire: Oh well, it does seem to be vastly improved as far as feel...

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

Good! I think they are installing updated mag safeties anyway.

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

Just got my shipping box today. Ruger says to include all original parts, but I can't find the magazine safety, which I ripped out of there two days after I bought the thing. Hmmm.

Anyone have or shot a Kahr PM45? Opinions?

I have a P40 that has been a reliable carry piece, although it is a bear to shoot due to the sharp recoil. I'd like to have a P45 and may eventually get one. Some folks trash Kahr pistols on forums based solely on Mr Moon's father's religious activities and not the guns themselves (I know one).

    Khar .380

I had an AMT380 once, was heavy and you had to punch out a pin just to take the thing down for cleaning- yuk. Got rid of it.

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

OMG it has a Glock trigger Ripoff? YES!! I thought the trigger was the only thing Glock patented!?! Buutt, I can't freakin' WAIT to get mine! :D:D Shorter pull, new mag release, less over-travel!

So. Anyone have their pistol back yet?

    .357 magnum or .44 special?

I had a Charter Bulldog .44 and it was a great gun- now my bro has it. :( A Bulldog with the hammer bobbed (like I had done to mine) is really nice- and LIGHT. http://www.charterfirearms.com/products/Charter_Bulldog_14420.html

    Rohrbaugh R9s versus Ruger LCP

The Kahr PM9 and PM40 are scarcely larger than the R9 and STILL a fraction of the cost. I love my P40 for carry- it's a pocket cannon! But the LCP and the P3AT are far lighter guns than the R9- and thinner- which makes them much more "pocketable" IMO. If I owned a R9, I think I'd keep it in a...

    Ruger Recall of SR9 Pistols

I don't understand how a striker fired pistol can discharge on a drop. Even if you discount the automatic striker blocker, it is still not under spring tension until the trigger is pulled in this pistol. The striker has little mass, so just how far do you have to drop the gun to make it...
