I've got a 6" GP100 I bought back in '93 and it has been an excellent gun all these years. I have put in excess of 30,000 rounds through it and it is still reasonably acccurate and functions fine.

For sheer indestructability; the Ruger reigns supreme. For quality of fit & finish, reliable and smooth function and aesthetically appealing; the Smith & Wesson is the clear winner. That said, these are just the opinions of an almost-old curmudgeon!
